Clark is a gleaming secret that is hidden in plain sight.

The former US airbase, also

known as Clark Freeport Zone, is a vast, multi-cultural hub with country clubs and
theme parks, casinos and restaurants, hot springs and hiking trails, and a
considerable number of malls. It's all happening here, whether you're traveling for
business or pleasure.

Clark as “Gateway to the Philippines” will assist the city in maintaining a competitive
advantage in the tourism industry. With a network of infrastructure projects already in
place or planned to make it a globally competitive destination This includes Clark
International Airport (CRK) and its new passenger terminal, which opened on May 2.
The world-class gateway, with its cutting-edge facilities, contactless features, and all-
inclusive amenities, is expected to boost tourism arrivals in Central Luzon.

Way back 2021, To boost and strengthen the tourism in Clark, (TIEZA) Tourism and
Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority is developing the Clark Tourism Enter-
prise Zone proposing a project on a 20-hectare greenfield property inside Clark Spe-
cial Economic Zone, Pampanga. The project they envisioned is to be an all-day tour-
ist destination anchored on Shopping Centre that is intended to be a smart, disaster-
resilient, and people-friendly tourism estate. The tourism complex entails developing
the following tourism enterprises:
 Shopping Centre
 5-Star Hotel
 MICE Facility
 Food and Cultural Hall
 Transport Terminal
 Theme Park
 Fitness Club
 Businessman’s Hotel
 Tourist Assistance Centre
 Team Building Facility
 Utilities and Open Spaces

The proposed Tourism Complex includes a variety of facilities for tourists and travellers,
whether on business or for pleasure. In general, this is a study designed to provide
architectural research, programming, and solutions to meet the requirements of the tourism
complex
Tourism Master Plans of San Vicente Flagship Tourism Enterprise Zone
San Vicente, Palawan, Philippines
June 27, 2013
The Tourism Master Plan of San Vicente, Palawan intends to create a comprehensive plan that will
transform the designated Flagship Tourism Enterprise Zone into one of the leading tourism
destinations of the Philippines. In addition to the 14-kilometer Long Beach, other tourism assets
offer a variety of attractions and features in San Vicente. Examples of niche tourism categories that
previously have not yet been recognized but which San Vicente is identified to have great potential
in are agri-tourism and eco-tourism for the vast agricultural lands and the existence of Protected
Areas such as mangrove forests and coral reefs in the site.
One of the main hindrances to the development of San Vicente is the inconvenience of access
between barangays, and to/from San Vicente from the other towns. Although there are road trails
that provide access to some areas, especially those used as farm-to-market roads, it is essential to
plan the network based on the type of land use and development anticipated.

One of the industries that has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak is the tourist
sector. According to the World Tourism Organization, between 100 and 120 million jobs worldwide
are at risk due to the closing of borders, airports, and hotels as well as limits on large gatherings,
land travel, and related services.

International visitor arrivals decreased by 22% in the first quarter of 2020, the time when travel
restrictions and lockdowns in most countries began. This is expected to have cost the global tourism
industry an estimated US$80 billion. During that time, 39 locations were implementing the shutting
of borders, 65 locations ceased international flights entirely or partially, and 97 locations completely
or partially closed their borders to tourists (i.e., banning the arrivals from specific countries) this
includes Pampanga.

According to Noemi B. Julian, manager of the Clark Development Corporation's

tourism and promotions division. In 2021, Clark saw 640,353 tourist arrivals, or around
77.22 percent of all visitors to the province of Pampanga. Visitor arrivals increased by
more than 84 percent compared to last year's period, as more than a million tourists
flocked to Clark from January to June 2022.
As Clark grows into a business city and is overrun with tourists and entertainment,
the issue will inevitably be noticeable.

In amidst the continuing threat if COVID-19, the economy is starting to bounce back
following the easing of movement of people, goods, and services

According to the Department of Tourism (DOT), Clark Freeport Zone contributed the
most significant percentage of tourist arrivals in Pampanga in 2021, And a total of
640,353 tourists arrived in Clark in 2021, accounting for around 77.22 percent of all
tourists that entered the province, according to data from the Office of Tourism
Development Planning, Research, and Information Management.

The increase in local tourists can be attributed to more people staying in hotels and
eating out, as well as the return of organized sporting events to the Freeport following
the easing of health and safety regulations and widespread Covid-19 vaccination.

3.2 Design Strategies

3.2.1 Passive Cooling
A passive design supports natural processes for cooling and heating to achieve
equitable interior conditions. To reduce the use of any electrical device, the flow of
energy in passive design is by natural means: radiation, conduction, or convection.
