II. SUMMARY
The OMMC Dermatology department conducted a cross-sectional study by investigating the
psychological impact of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) and awareness
among Filipino male patients with androgenetic alopecia (common type of hair loss) aged 18 to
65 were analyzed. According to a study conducted by Ng etal., the link between AGA and
psychological disorders is well documented. AGA causes anxiety and depression; the severity of
the psychological impact is determined by the patient's perception of the severity of their
disease. The study discovered that the likelihood of anxiety and depression was documented,
but it was not statistically associated with the severity of AGA.
Within this study, it was discovered that in Filipino male patients, age, education, disease
duration, level of awareness, treatment satisfaction, and AGA severity were not statistically
associated with anxiety; however, age, education, and AGA severity were statistically
connected with depression. One of the mentally debilitating hair illnesses that affects humans is
supposed to be resolved by appropriate care focusing on these elements.
B. To Nursing Education
This journal is useful in distinguishing various factors that contribute to the acquisition of with
its well coordinated program that can reduce a patient's worries. The study helps us to better
understand the effects of various factors, and with this knowledge, we can learn how this study
could be refined and revitalized.
C. To Nursing Research
The study's limitations include limited applicability to other types of alopecia and a lack of
control for the presence of other concurrent anxiety and/or depression in our participants.
