THE REMOTE SURVEY (RECCE)

LOCATION VISIT SHEET

Completed by Eva & Ruby

Production title: Selected

Production team: YA Productions

Producer: Ruby Hattrick, Eva Seccombe and Natalia Witts

Date of survey: 31st October

Proposed filming date: 16th November

Location Address: The Bishop's Palace, Wells BA5 2PD

Permission needed: siobhan.goodwin@bishopspalace.org.uk

Audio/visual problems:

The establishing shots we get of the outside of the palace won’t need audio so we don't need to
worry about outside noise. For the inside scenes we will put up signs so that the public know that
we’re filming. Siobhan said that she will shut the doors during our takes so that we don’t have any
audio or visual problems. We will film between 12-2:30 to avoid any lighting inconsistencies. To
avoid copyright issues with the big paintings we will film from angles where the light reflects off
them so you can’t really see the paintings.

Weather conditions:

For the establishing shots we get of the outside, risk of rain. We will make sure to bring covers to
protect the equipment but if there is rain in our shot it won’t be an issue. For the rest of the filming
we will be inside so weather won’t be an issue for us.

Continuity:

As we are shooting in this location for a few hours the only thing that could change is the lighting.
We will make sure that we keep it as consistent as possible and keep in mind that we are able to edit
the clips in post-production to keep the lighting as similar as possible.

Electricity/Lighting issues:

We will use the natural lighting coming in from the big windows so we will not need
electricity.
Set dressing:

We will be adding some bits to the set. Firstly, we will need to add some pictures of our characters
that the MI5 took. We will also need to add a laptop so the MI5 can communicate with them. The
existing pictures on the wall will have to stay but we need to make sure that their faces cannot be
seen but the light was reflecting on them so that was good.

Welfare:

The location is right on the end of a high street so there are opportunities to get refreshments. There
are toilets on site.

Parking/Public transport to location:

We will all be getting the bus as there is a bus station withing 10 minutes' walk of Bishops palace.

Covid 19 restrictions:

We will provide hand sanitiser for everyone on set.
