Face masks, face shields, alcohol and sanitizers, vaccine cards, and proper social
distancing is the new setup we, people faced daily. Covid-19 pandemic shifted our
normal lives into a bumpy road, an upside-down movement. Everything changed in just
one sneeze. The way we live, the way we interact with other people, the way we think
and intercourse with other people, the production, and the faith, everything changed. The
pandemic, we faced made people suffer, lost their jobs, and starve due to poverty, and yet
we're still encountering it until now after years had passed. A lot of homes were ruined,
and people mourn the loss of a family member without even seeing them because of
Covid-19.

Due to the covid-19 pandemic, many students are no longer receiving education.
Many students need to stop studying because they can’t provide gadgets as well as the
internet for the new education platform. Many students, instead of learning something
from studying, do nothing because all they know is to comply and just submit the paper
works that their teachers ask them to do. A lot has been changed due to the pandemic we
have been fighting until now. Not just in the livelihood where many are starving due to
poverty and layoffs due to company closures or losses. People also suffer due to the
unchanging increase in taxes and prices.

Moreover, the present worldwide crisis, formed by the COVID-19 pandemic, is

growing and is multifaceted, including health, economic, and social concerns. All people
have affected mostly the poorest residents of cities have been impacted. Big and small
cities, the travel and hospitality industry, and the business industry have been badly
affected by the crisis. According to the World Bank, 100 million people have been gone
back into poverty, erasing all prior gains. Global cities in wealthy nations have been hard
hit, with an estimated 1 billion people living in large and congested informal settlements
with limited access to public services. People are affected in the global cities,
metropolises, or those in the urban centers because they are one of the proven vehicles of
spreading Covid-19 cases. Cities around the world have been impacted by the COVID-19
issue, particularly metropolitan areas, which have become the pandemic's epicenter. Due
to a complicated combination of factors, including population expansion, national and
international accessibility, and public health response, the virus’s severe repercussions
are strongly tied to metropolitan areas, which appear to have greater fatality rates.
However, cities are really prone to a range of stresses, including natural and man-made
disasters, due to their dense populations and events. When epidemics or pandemics strike,
it is the "urban poor" that bear the brunt of the pandemic's quick spread.

Many people are afraid to go out to global cities, and urban centers anytime soon.
However, people will continue to engage, mostly business people, but only when they

1
have a big encounter or contact in the city. While the virus recovery timeline is not yet
promising, global cities, metropolises, and those urban centers can't remain solidified.
However, it would be too dangerous to even think about attempting social activities under
global cities, metropolises, and urban centers. It will raise the chances of cases by
interaction with one another, handshaking, and by just being there surrounding yourself
with the crowd, which is against distancing requirements. Therefore, municipalities and
cities with manageable crowds are the immediate future or the oh so-called "new normal"
currently. Management under the global cities, metropolises, and urban centers should
structure and contain rules such as encouraging social distancing interactions that
guarantee adequate physical distancing while having a conversation and interaction. With
the correct measures in sanitation, wearing of face mask and face shield, temperature
check, vaccination, involvement of health and safety experts, and rules in the distancing
set up, we will be able to manage, go to different global cities and can even travel the
world.

Nevertheless, communication is still critical and necessary for us, people can’t live
without it. With strict rules regarding face-to-face setup, global media helped us by doing
a lot of important roles in our lives during our battle in the pandemic. Global media assist
us, people to communicate that reach across the world. Through traditional media, such
as TV, radio, and newspapers, and now to the modern media such as Facebook,
YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram we could see all the news and updates about the
pandemic. Global media help us because we kept the communication system revolve in
our surroundings. It allowed us to convey a message and overall communicate and be
updated with the people that are far from us such as family, friends, and loved ones who
are in quarantine facilities and hospitals. We get a lot of updates and news and learned
how to prevent the spreading of the virus and what can we do if we get infected by the
coronavirus. Also, it updates us on all the information and policies in responding to the
public health crisis that's around us. This information and policies help people, health
organizations, governments, businesses, educational establishments, and the global
community to understand better health communication strategies. Assuring this
information and policies are vital to people in the world of media with a lot of
misinformation, doubt, and fear of the people.

Moreover, religious activities or the Church, in general, have been also deeply
affected by the virus. Attending Church on Sunday has been strictly prohibited because
it's one of the vehicles that can promote the virus since the Church has many gatherings
and, it's one way to encourage people to just stay at home. The churches' perspectives on
this matter are comparable to those of many other nations. Despite this, they
communicate with the faithful using social media platforms. While most churches and
religious groups are ready to alter their worship activities, others have chosen to
temporarily suspend religious rites. Millions of individuals are experiencing major shifts

2
in their religious practices because of the COVID-19. As a result of this virus, a few
religious leaders have urged fellow believers to assist in confronting the social and
economic issues that lie ahead by embracing their spirituality and, most importantly, to
exercise caution and care throughout this pandemic. Moreover, according to Anglican
Alliance, the virus is presently disrupting people’s lives and creating fear, anxiety, and
poverty. We can find strength and hope at this troubling time to God. Even if we're not
attending Church weekly, we still have our bibles with us, and prayers are our weapon in
this situation. To help Christians reflect on their faith and scriptures amid the pandemic,
the church has produced a series of Bible studies called “Faith in the Time of COVID-
19”, that are available in any language. These reflections encourage prayer, and faith in
action, was written with bible scholars, theologians, and church leaders from across the
world and the foreword is by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Also, religious people used
social media such as Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, etc. to encourage everyone to
pray and read the bible at home. A lot of churches also give food and bibles to
communities that are in need.

Covid-19 is such a short word, but it drove many destructions in our world. This
pandemic was not just about the negative effects it gave on our lives. We also learned a
lot of life lessons due to this pandemic, a lot of realization that we just recognized now.
We learned how to keep ties to our family. We learned how to cherish the time and
togetherness of our loved ones and to appreciate the little things around us. Many
predictions and beliefs emerge. Predictions and beliefs that Jesus is coming back and that
we need to repent of all our sins executed here on earth. Beliefs that the world will be
destroyed, that the big one is coming. But no matter what happens, let's seek to pray
because it's the only powerful weapon we have. In this world, full of doubts, anxieties,
and fears, having a relationship with God should be our number one priority. Let’s not
wait for the past normal of our lives to happen, let’s move on and accept that this is our
new normal. In line with prayers are following health protocols, getting vaccines, and
with a new set up of new normal. Adapting to the new normal also means we will focus
alone on the things that we can control and learn how to live with a grateful heart that
amidst what happens we will have a desire to enjoy our lives to the fullest. In time and in
God's mercy we will get through this pandemic.
