ANNOTATION

In Part A – Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson of the Detailed
Lesson Plan on May 27, 2022, I presented an activity entitled “#PIN and POINT” in which it
will gauge the learner’s general information in understanding culture, society and politics in
terms of how the community socialize with each other and how to appreciate different
culture. Knowing that each one has its own ways of living and belief, this serves as their
knowledge and understanding that different community has its own ways of living.
Further, the different activities in the said Detailed Lesson Plan covers the
constructivism principle of teaching wherein the learners construct knowledge rather than just
passively take in information. As the learners experience the world and reflect upon those
experiences, they build their own representations and incorporate new information into their
pre-existing knowledge. The different activities are specifically designed and uses examples
based on the commonly established businesses for the learners to easily understand with the
concepts behind the topic.

Lastly, in Additional activities for application or remediation of the Detailed Lesson


Plan, I gave an activity applying what they have learned in their community and how they
interact with each other. I ask them to draw how their environment doing and affects their
values as individual.

Hence, based on the above-cited scenarios, research-based knowledge and/or


principles of teaching and learning were used as basis for planning/designing the lesson.

ANNOTATION

In the Detailed Lesson Plan on May 27, 2022 and even in my series of online classes,
before I started the lesson proper, I asked the learners first of what they have learned from our
previous lesson in which it is a way for me to measure if they have learned the topics
previously discussed at the same time it is an assessment for myself if my teaching pedagogy
is effective or not.

In addition, every after the presentation of examples/instances of the new lesson and
in the discussion of new concepts and practicing new skills, the learners are constantly asked
if they have some queries regarding the topics discussed for me to be able to adjust my
teaching strategies to suit to their intellectual capacity in understanding the topics.

Finally, assessments are given not only to gauge the student’s learning but also it is a
way of reviewing the effectiveness of my teaching practices.

TEACHER’S REFLECTION

In my Two years of teaching experience at Compostela National High School


teaching Understanding, Culture, Society and Politics Subject one of the least things did I
know to gage the student on how the world must understand individual differences by culture
and beliefs. Hence, more time is allotted in discussing such topic supplemented with various
activity sheets for reinforcement and enhancement of learning.

As such, attached are some screenshots of various activity sheets used to reinforce and
enhance the students learning.

TEACHER’S REFLECTION FORM

In Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson of the Detailed Lesson
Plan on June 30, 2022, I presented an activity entitled “SUM IT UP” in which it will gauge
the learners’ general information in some of the common forms used in the business industry
particularly the bank industry. This specific activity is designed to measure learner’s
knowledge of the different forms used by the banks in their usual/daily operations. As such,
said activity will attract learners with giftedness in academic terms to participate in the
discussion.

In addition, learners who cannot easily understand the topics are given special
attention by asking every after the presentation of examples/instances of the new lesson and
in the discussion of new concepts and practicing new skills if they have some queries
regarding the topics discussed for me to be able to adjust my teaching strategies to suit to
their intellectual capacity in understanding the topics.

Further, learners gifted with verbal intellect are asked to do the presentation in behalf
of the whole class in specific activities for them to be able to enhance at the same time for the
class to give appreciation to their special skills.

Finally, before the start of the class proper or in the preliminaries portion of the
Detailed Lesson Plan, learners were oriented as to the class policies specifically mentioning
that learners with disabilities were especially given attention in order to maintain conducive
learning environment.

In Part A – Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson of the Detailed
Lesson Plan on June 30, 2022, I presented an activity entitled “SUM IT UP” in which it
gauge the learners’ general information in some of the common forms used in the business
industry particularly the bank industry. In this specific activity, I used different forms used by
our local banks in their usual/daily operations. As such, learners can easily adapt and identify
the said bank forms for they can usually be seen in the locality.

In addition, I explained to the class the use of alternative forms being used in the far-
flung areas wherein some of the bank forms presented are not applicable to them just like the
ATM or automated teller machine.

Further, the different activities in the said Detailed Lesson Plan covers the
constructivism principle of teaching wherein the learners construct knowledge rather than just
passively take in information. As the learners experience the world and reflect upon those
experiences, they build their own representations and incorporate new information into their
pre-existing knowledge (schemas). The different activities are specifically designed and uses
examples based on the commonly established businesses in our locality for the learners to
easily understand with the concepts behind the topic.

Hence, culturally appropriate teaching strategies are being applied to address the
needs of learners from indigenous groups.
