- Using the attention getters when students are off task/need to come back together
- Give students materials right before a task has to be completed to avoid it being a distraction
- Have all materials prepared ahead of time, even if you may not get to a particular task/activity

- Adjusted lesson when realizing there was not enough time for a certain task
- Set expectations for most task students had to complete
- Monitored students as they complete chart and science workbook page to show their knowledge of the lesson
- Use of videos and online resources
- Use of student workbook for students to identify something that sinks and floats as a quick assessment

- Have questions prepared to focus on vocabulary that connect to the lesson


- Model what is expected when students must record information (especially using the knowledge of the students
and how they learn)
- Using a timer to pace the lesson/activities
