To understand the difference between looking
and seeing. Looking is a physical act, seeing is
a mental process of perception. Seeing involves
recognising and connecting the information the
eyes take in with your previous knowledge and
experience to create meaning. These
phenomena are practiced using light as the
primary element that facilitates seeing/vision.

shade,
The contrast of light and shadow
is important for the proper

an image seem brighter while
shadow can draw drama to a

Photo essay,
A photographic essay is a form of
visual storytelling, a way to
present a narrative through a
series of images. A great photo
essay is powerful, able to evoke
emotion and understanding
without using words. A photo
essay delivers a story using a
series of photographs and brings
the viewer along your narrative
journey.
