MODULE 4

Explain Government Programs

and Initiatives in
Addressing Social
Inequalities
SUBMITTED BY GROUP 5
The following are the
factors that contribute to
social inequality:
Wealth

Prestige

Power
I
It gives you

freedom.

I
It gives you the power to pursue

your dreams.

ADVANTAGES: I
It gives you

WEALTH security.

W
Wealth provides the financial

resources needed to prevent,

eradicate or at the very least,

reduce the seriousness of most

situations.
P
People may just be closed or friend

you because their priority and

intention is your money not your

friendship

Y You are prone to scam and crimes

like robbery.

I
If you have too much money, you

don't know where you'll put all this

unless you do a donation, charities,

and events.
DISADVANTAGES:
WEALTH L
Wealth can harm your life, many

people will target you because they're

greedy
W
When they’re on top of their game,

they are often described as a

respected person

T They aim to exceed expectations

ADVANTAGES : T
They stay focused on the goal.

PRESTIGE
Y You can gain many friends.

Y You will earn respect from

others
I
If you're famous too,

you'll lose a lot of

privacy.

Y
You may feel uneasy.
DISADVANTAGES :
PRESTIGE
Y
You have to keep a lot

of secrets.
ADVANTAGES : POWER
Power helps bring more control in your

life.

Power influences people's behaviour and

attitudes, it allows managers to

determine a course of events and is an

important contributor to change

leadership and dealing with resistance.

You'll get to have your voice heard and

to influence decisions.

Power creates likability because people

like to be associated with power and

success.

Having power provides visibility and helps

to expand your network.

DISADVANTAGES : POWER
Power makes individuals greedy, and it

raises people's sense of entitlement,

making them feel entitled to more than

others while having done nothing

remarkable.

Power makes people oblivious to other

people's emotions; there is a lot of

evidence that having power shuts down

your empathy system, making you

insensitive to other people's feelings,

including their misery.

And lastly, power makes individuals

overconfident in their abilities.
