 Chapter 1

The problem and it’s background

This chapter contains in introduction, Background of the study, theoretical

framework, conceptual paradigm, statement of the problem, hypothesis, assumption,

significance of the study, scope and delimitation of the study and definition of terms.

Introduction

It's crucial for students to know about kidnapping instances in the news so they

can be informed. As a result, they will constantly be prepared, cautious in their actions,

and vigilant at all times. In order to increase people's awareness of student abduction, we

must keep reporting on it. However, there are other kids who don't care or believe in

kidnapping, therefore we will provide them with the necessary knowledge to make them

believe and to encourage them to consider their safety. However, each student will have a

different perception depending on how they react to the news about pupils being

abducted in an effort to increase awareness. The main objective of this is to make all

pupils aware of it in order to provide them with information and ensure their safety by

making a newspaper.

Kidnapping is a serious crime that everyone should be paying attention to. No one

knows when or where the abductors could appear. Many people are getting alarmed by

this especially our loved ones. It is alarming for them to hear recently concluded news of

abduction as their relative might be involved. Hearing stories from different places in the

country about kidnapping syndicates makes everyone anxious and worried for their loved

ones’ safety.
 Kidnapping is an issue that needs to be raised and making a news paper about this

topic would surely help each and every one. Making this news paper would help raise

awareness to every person starting from some awareness tips to be posted simply on

social media sites and such stuff as it could possibly lessen the said rate of abduction in

various places

Background of the study

The goal of this research is to study the News about students being

kidnapped to raise awareness on the selected High school students of San Ildefonso

College. By making news about kidnapping it has given society different benefits.

News is a new information or a report about something that has happened recently

and it can be reported in a Newspaper, Magazine, Television, News program, etc.

According to Cambridge Dictionary Awareness is a knowledge that something exists, or

understanding of a situation or subject at the present time based on information or

experience

Everyone should be aware of the seriousness of kidnapping as a crime. Nobody

has any idea when or where the kidnappers could show up. This is alarming a lot of

people, especially our loved ones. They are alarmed to learn about recent abduction news

since their relative may be involved. Everyone becomes scared and concerned for their

loved ones' safety after hearing reports concerning kidnapping syndicates from various

parts of the nation.

Hypothesis

San Ildefonso College High School students will be made aware of kidnapping

cases through the newspaper we produce, which will be published in the school year

2022-2023

Scope and delimitation

Scopes and delimitation- the purpose of this study is to increase public awareness

of kidnapping. The researcher included reasons for kidnapping as well as preventative

and proactive measures. The researchers are interested in the highschool pupil's reactions

to the newspaper article regarding kidnapping.

Statement of the problem

This research aims to determine the News about students being kidnapped to raise

awareness.

1. What is the profile of the students who have a lack of kidnapping awareness?

2. What are reason why students being kidnapped?

3. Is the newspaper will help them to raise their awareness?
