1. 연혁
이화여자대학교는 1886년에 설립된 여성 전문 교육기관으로서 지난 135년 동안 한국을 대표하는 세
계적인 명문사학으로 자리매김 해왔습니다. 서울 중심부에 소재하고 있는 세계 최대 규모의 여자종합대

2. 글로벌 이화
이화여자대학교는 2008년 정부초청 외국인 장학생 수학 대학으로 선정된 이래, 다양한 국적의 정부초

Ⅰ. Overview of the University

1. History
Ewha Womans University was founded in 1886 as the first educational institution for women in
Korea. Ewha has been one of Korea’s most prestigious private universities and the largest
women’s university in the world. More than 230,000 students have graduated from Ewha, and
25,000 students are studying in 14 colleges and 15 graduate schools. It is our vision that Ewha
nurtures competent women leaders who possess a broad mind and global insight. Harmonizing

2. Key Information
Since 2008, Ewha Womans University has been selected as one of the Global Korea
Scholarship(GKS) Program universities. Ewha has accepted GKS students from manifold countries
and it is one of the most popular destinations for GKS students. Currently 74 students from 46
countries are studying various majors at Ewha.

❍ Applicants to the graduate programs must select a major when applying.
❍ Applicants will be accepted for admission through a comprehensive evaluation of
academic ability, achievements, motivation to study, etc. based on submitted documents.
※ There may be a screening interview if necessary.
❍ Additional Requirements
a) Nursing Science: Master’s Program in Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Clinical
Nursing, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse, and Hospice Nurse Practitioner majors are only
open to candidates with at least 3 years of clinical experience in the field of each major.
b) Medicine:
- The field of Clinical Medicine (other than basic medicine) is only open to candidates who
have graduated from the College of Medicine(undergraduate).
- The field of Dental Medicine is only open to candidates who have graduated from the
College of Dentistry(undergraduate).
c) Early Childhood Education: The Doctoral degree program in Educational Administration in
Early Childhood Education is only open to applicants who are currently working in a filed
related to early childhood education.

❍ Nursing Science applicants must submit a “certificate of former employment(original).”
❍ Applicants applying to Art & Athletic fields and those applying to Media Design in Content
Convergence must submit materials verifying their artistic or athletic ability.
