1. 연혁과 성과
❍ 건국대학교는 1931년 설립된 종합사립대학으로 서울캠퍼스와 글로컬캠퍼스를
운영하고 있습니다(정부초청외국인장학생은 서울캠퍼스에서 수학).
❍ 서울캠퍼스에는 14개 단과대학(상허교양대학 포함)과 13개의 대학원(일반1, 전문·
특수12)이 소재하고 있으며, 현재 약 25,000명의 학생이 재학하고 있습니다.
❍ 2022년, 2023년「중앙일보 대학평가」에서 2년 연속 종합순위 TOP10을 기록
하였으며, 각종 평가지표에서 우수한 성과를 보이고 있습니다.

2. 정부초청외국인장학생 대상 지원
❍ 정부초청외국인장학생에게는 캠퍼스 내 기숙사 입주를 보장하고 있으며, 기숙사에
거주하는 장학생에게 기숙사비의 일부(월 20만원)를 교비로 지원하고 있습니다.
※ 학생 실부담액 월 25만원 내외, 매년 기숙사비 책정 기준에 따라 변동 가능
❍ 정부초청외국인장학생을 위한 멘토링 프로그램을 운영하여, 내국인 학생과 1:1
매칭 후 미진한 전공과목 학습 및 연구방법 등에 대한 솔루션을 제공하고 학교

Ⅰ. Overview of the University

1. Footsteps and Accomplishments
❍ Konkuk University (KU) is a comprehensive private university, established
in 1931. There are two campuses, one in Seoul and the other in Chungju
(GKS students study in Seoul).
❍ Seoul Campus consists of 14 colleges and 13 graduate schools(1 general,
12 professional) with around 25,000 students currently enrolled.
❍ KU ranked in TOP 10 Universities in ‘Joongang Daily University Rankings’
for two consecutive years (2022 – 2023), scoring high points on various
assessment indexes.
❍ KU has been selected and participating in a wide range of government-funded
projects such as the ‘Digital Innovation Sharing University’, ‘National Program
of Excellence in Software’, ‘BRIDGE+’, ‘LINC+’, and ‘BK21 Four’, putting
best effort for education and research development.
❍ KU has been an ‘IEQAS (International Education Quality Assurance System,
certified by the Korean government) Certified University’ since 2013,
establishing itself as one of the best universities in Korea in terms of
supporting and managing international students.
❍ Bioscience & Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Chemical Engineering, and Physics are some of the most renowned areas of

2. Supporting Programs for GKS Students
❍ KU guarantees to offer on-campus Dormitory for GKS students and
provides financial support of 200,000KRW per month for every GKS
student living in the dorm (the living costs decline to about 250,000KRW
per month; the cost may vary each year).
❍ All new GKS students are partnered with Korean student mentors who
provide guidance and support in adjusting to academic and student life.
❍ KU Office of International Affairs also provides regular meetings and
various Cultural Exchange Programs (about 3 times per semester), in
order to enrich GKS students’ life at Konkuk.
