Cause and effect is a relationship between events or things, where one is the result of the other or
others. This is a combination of action and reaction. Examples of cause and effect show how one

Cause and effect + Verb or Clause

Konektor: because, since, for, hence, thus, therefore, thereby, consequently, as a result
Contoh:

 Because her brother lives in Jakarta, she must visit him every month. (Karena kakak laki-
lakinya tinggal di Jakarta, dia harus mengunjunginya setiap bulan.)
 This bag is expensive since the famous brand Chanel made it. (Tas ini sungguh mahal
karena brand terkenal bernama Chanel yang membuatnya.)
 My arms are hurt. Hence, i cannot swim today. (Lenganku sakit. Sehingga, aku tak dapat
berenang hari ini.)
 As our teacher has suggested to stay at home, she gives us a pile of homework. (Karena
guru kami telah menyarankan untuk tetap di rumah, dia memberikan kami PR.)
 He is invited to the party for he’s one of the funniest guys in school. (Dia diundang ke
pesta karena dia merupakan salah satu orang paling humoris di sekolah.)
 They haven’t turned 17 yet, as a result, they cannot join the international seminar.
(Mereka belum 17 tahun, sehingga, mereka tidak bisa ikut seminar internasional.)

Di suatu pagi hari, ibu dan ayah berbelanja disebuah pasar untuk membeli bahan makanan untuk
sarapan, namun ibu tidak menyadari kalau sebenarnya bahan makanan yang ia beli mengandung
virus berbahaya.
Keesokan harinya ibu menyiapkan sarapan keluarga dengan bahan yang kemarin ibu beli di
pasar. Setelah ibu selesai memasak mereka ingin sarapan pagi bersama. namun ayah dan ibu
mendapat panggilan dari kantor sehingga hanya anaknya saja yang memakan masakan tersebut.
Setelah beberapa hari kemudian, si anak mulai merasakan adanya beberapa gejala covid seperti
demam, kehilangan indra penciuman, dsb.
Tetapi si anak mengabaikan gejala tersebut, karena ia berpikir hanya flu/batuk biasa dan malah ia
pergi keluar untuk bermain bersama teman-temannya. Setelah pulang bermain, gejala si anak
malah bertambah buruk.
Saat orang tuanya sampai di rumah, si anak memberitahukan penyakitnya kepada kedua orang
tuanya. Orang tuanya sangat terkejut dan segera memanggil dokter ke rumah untuk memeriksa
keadaan anaknya.
Setelah diperiksa oleh dokter, si anak di diagnosis menderita penyakit covid dan dibawa ke
rumah sakit untuk di karantina.
