econext Brand Development (Formerly
the Newfoundland and Labrador
Environmental Industry Association)

The Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental

Industry Association (NEIA) rebranded to reflect its
evolution as an association and its continued work to
grow and support the green economy in the province.
As Econext the association will be the accelerator for
We
clean growth in Newfoundland and Labrador. Are

The organization required a new brand that allowed

them to represent their members more effectively
and be able to deliver larger clean growth projects.
The brand had to be modern and spoke more clearly
to clean growth, allowing the organization to engage
more on a national level.
Recommendations for the Development
of an Environmental Procurement Policy

The logo incorporates bright green withal hint of blue in Newfoundland and Labrador

to represent the industries they were primarily active

in and the gradient shift with the charcoal still
incorporated a tech side to the organization - the logo
is meant to speak exactly to “cleantech” October 18

The icon itself represents the shape of a simplified

but modern leaf shape and the arrows within that
make up the center of the “leaf” are to represent
forward moving/motion to signify the that the
organization is accelerating.
Atlantic Hydrogen
Alliance
Brand development for the Atlantic
Hydrogen Alliance

Created to support the development of an

economically-viable clean hydrogen value chain
that will enable the transition to a prosperous
low-carbon economy in Atlantic Canada.

A simplified but stylized hydrogen molecule was

the basis of the icon, the icon needed to be simple,
readable and accessible for the audience - some of
which don’t understand hydrogen energy or are
learning for the first time about hydrogen being a
fuel source. As a mechanism of education for
Hydrogen energy development, AHA’s brand had
to be straight to the point and simple as well.
