Todoroki’s New Theory

by wawaka

Summary

“Midoriya,” Todoroki stated, face emotionless as he stood in front of the class. Lucky for
him, Aizawa hadn’t shown up. “I know.”

Izuku watched the class fall into chaos as he whittled and sank into his chair as he was
overcome with questions. Looking around, he watched Todoroki take his seat with a small
smirk.

Oh, Izuku thought, it’s on.

OR

Todoroki asked Midoriya about his family tree and Izuku asked him to figure it out and
he’d confirm what he could. Unbeknownst to Todoroki, Midoriya and the U.A. Staff have
been playing along, switching who would play a parental figure and who would act like his
sibling.

Cue the chaos.

Notes

Hello again!!

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been able to write anything for this series.

Also, this got long and I wanted to continue it rather than closing it off at a random spot but
the gist of what happens is in the first chapter. The rest of the chapters are literally just
going to be them causing chaos together throughout their days at U.A. and will prolly be
updated as I continue with the series.

Enjoy!!

It was a goddamn Monday.

Monday!

Izuku was almost positive that it had been a universal law that nothing of substance happened on
Mondays, and yet, as Izuku walked into class he noticed Aizawa wasn’t up front at the podium.

No. Todoroki Shouto was.

Now, Izuku might have wanted to play dumb and pretend that he doesn’t have anything to do with
his friend standing up there but, at this point, he knew better than to assume for the best case
scenario.

Which is why Izuku is currently staring down his friend, trying to silently get this boy to back off
and of fucking course that’s when Kaminari thinks it’s the best time to ask why Todoroki is still
standing at the teacher’s podium completely blank faced .

“Yo, Todo,” Kaminari called, effectively quieting the class. “Whatcha doing up there?”
Izuku holds in his (admittedly) large sigh and glances at the clock, grimacing when he realizes that
he only had 30 more seconds until the bell rang and Aizawa could shut this down . While Izuku
decides to go through a midlife crisis ( because that’s what this is and no one can tell him
otherwise- ) Todoroki just stares at Izuku, his eyes gleaming with insider knowledge ( that he
doesn’t actually have- ) and his face just as stoically blank as always.

“I have a rather important announcement,” Todoroki starts, still staring at Izuku. Izuku, for his part,
just decides to shrink in on himself, doing his best to ignore the tension the class and Todoroki are
creating when the boy starts speaking again. “Midoriya, I have acquired evidence and I know who
it is.”

Todoroki lets the class fall into chaos and silently makes his way back to his desk, watching as
Izuku’s classmates crowd around him. Izuku shrinks impossibly further waiting for the bell to ring
as he ignores his classmates and their questions and makes eye contact with a smirking Todoroki .

Oh, Izuku thought, oh it’s on.

Izuku barely put any thought in the bell ringing ( fucking finally- ) and made his way to his seat,
mind whirling with possibilities as Aizawa made his way in and began listing off announcements
before teaching.

Izuku doesn’t hear any of it, no , he was busy planning revenge.

When the bell rang for class to be over, Izuku stared Todoroki down which let the other boy know
they had to talk.

Their classmates filed out slowly, obviously wanting to ask Izuku more questions but not willing to
get in between the two. Lucky for Izuku, Aizawa stayed in the classroom, pretending to sleep in his
sleeping bag, and he was excited to see how Aizawa would react to his plan ( and if he’d be willing
to play a part- ) so, once the classroom was empty, he spoke.

“W-what do y-you know?” Izuku asked, trying to act as if the Todoroki had the upper hand ( even
if the stutter physically pained him to deal with at this point- ).
“I know your father is All Might and I now have evidence.” Todoroki stated, much too confident in
his abilities to find familial connections ( and lucky for Todo, he’s about to have a new assignment-
).

Izuku heard a small snort come from Aizawa and almost rolled his eyes at the man, almost
compromising the mission he was about to send Todoroki on.

“I-is that a-all you found?” Izuku asked, making sure to widen his eyes in fake hope and barely
concealed happiness. He bit his lip and looked down when Todoroki narrowed his eyes towards
him and listened as Todoroki made his way over to his mysterious friend.

“Does more of your family work here at U.A.?” Todoroki demanded, obviously ready to go on a
manhunt while Izuku just acted flustered and waved his arms in a ‘panic.’

“No! I-I mean, of-of course n-not! I j-just wanted to know, y-you know?” Izuku griminced, not
entirely sure if he oversold it but one look at Todoroki and he knew he did exactly what he needed
to.

“So, All Might is your father and the rest of your family works here.” Todoroki said, as matter-of-
factly as always.

“All Might is n-not my father and n-not all of my f-family works here,” Izuku paused, letting his
eyes widen and waved his hands around. “I-I mean! None of my f-family works h-here!” Izuku
held off on laughing when he watched Todoroki go into conspiracy mode.

“Fine. I’ll be conducting an investigation on your entire family tree.” Todoroki said, already
whipping out a notebook, and drawing up ( what the hell- ) a literal family tree, leaving the name
circles blank. “I want the truth, Midoriya. Who is your father?”

Izuku bit his lip, and glanced around the room before landing back on his friend. “I-I’ll give you
hints b-but you can’t tell other p-people. Their s-safety is im-important, okay?” Izuku waited for
his friend to solemnly nod before going on. “F-first clue, he doesn’t t-teach us directly.”

Todoroki nodded, writing down the clue and started walking back to his desk. “Thank you for
trusting me with this investigation, Midoriya. Would you like to walk to class together?”
Izuku had (what could only be called) an epiphany and nodded eagerly before pausing. “A-actually
let me talk to Aizawa-sensei for a minute and I-I’ll meet you in the hall.”

Todoroki nodded slowly, obviously wary of his teacher now and walked out towards the hall. If
Izuku was betting, he’d bet his life that his friend was currently listening through the door. As fast
as Izuku could, he made his way to Aizawa and kicked the sleeping bag resulting in a glaring
teacher. Izuku ignored it in favor of shoving his notebook in the man’s face, waiting for him to
read his note.

‘ I know you heard him. Want in? ’

Aizawa grinned at Izuku and he took that as a yes. “Onii-chan, what am I supposed to do?”

Aizawa’s eyes widened a bit but took the new honorific in stride while scribbling his own message
in Izuku’s notebook. “You did this to yourself, Zu. Now get going before I give you detention
again .” Aizawa shoved the notebook back into Izuku’s hands once he finished his piece.

‘Mic and Nem: Uncle and Aunt’

Izuku, obnoxiously, sighed and walked away grabbing his stuff and started walking out. “Fine,
fine. Everything is just fine. See you tonight, Sho-nii.” Izuku said, grinning at the man before
shaking it off and opened the door.

Izuku did his best to look nervous and wary towards Todoroki who, for lack of better words,
looked like he just had a heart attack ( which was truly pushing his limits because he’s trying to act
and not laugh at his friend who was currently writing at a speed that almost made Izuku jealous- ).
Todoroki just nodded at Izuku and they walked together to their next class in silence.

And Izuku could not wait for his next class, because they had English with Present Mic who had
just gotten the title of Uncle for the day .

Todoroki was having a good Monday.

He had just found and photographed All Might and Midoriya talking together, obviously trying to
keep whatever they needed to discuss a secret ( since they were hiding in a corner and if that
wasn’t damning evidence then he didn't know what was- ) until Midoriya denied the evidence
again .

Todoroki was ready to write it off until his friend had let it slip that he was related to other staff
members, which didn’t make sense to him but he was willing to take his friend’s word for it. He
learned that Izuku’s father didn’t teach them ( and he can’t understand why his friend said
‘directly’ but it seemed important- ) and that Midoriya and Aizawa-sensei were actually brothers.

And it made sense, because:

1. Midoriya and Aizawa-sensei seemed to play a cat-and-mouse game throughout training

where Aizawa-sensei would correct Midoriya’s form and roll his eyes when his friend
muttered something under his breath.
2. He had caught Aizawa-sensei and Midoriya standing in the kitchen late at night in the
dorms, both half-asleep with identical cat mugs in hand, twice.
3. Aizawa-sensei always gave detentions to Midoriya for small things and he was always the
adult in charge of the detentions that were given out.
4. Midoriya just called Aizawa-sensei ‘onii-chan’ and ‘sho-nii.’
5. Aizawa-sensei just called his friend ‘Zu.’

Obviously he could not ignore the evidence any longer and wrote ‘Aizawa-sensei’ in his family
tree circle, labeling it accordingly while making his way to his next class with a nervous Midoriya.

Todoroki couldn’t figure out if his friend was scared of the information he would ( and already has
) found or if he was nervous about Todoroki’s reaction so he stopped his friend outside of Yamada-
sensei’s class.

“Midoriya,” he started, waiting until he had his friend’s full attention. “I promise I will not be
careless with your family’s information.” Midoriya nodded, looking relieved ( if the tension in his
shoulders was anything to go by- ) and Todoroki squinted when his friend beamed at him.

“T-thanks, Todoroki-kun!” Midoriya said brightly, opening the classroom door and shuffled past
him, taking his seat as Todoroki made his way towards his own seat, silently swearing that
whoever else he learned to be a part of Midoriya’s family, he would protect their true identity.
With that promise in mind, Todoroki turned his attention to Yamada-sensei’s lesson, oblivious to
what his teacher’s sharp grin meant.

When the bell rang for lunch, Izuku just said he had to talk to a few teachers and he was finally free
of the remaining pestering classmates (Re: Todoroki, Ashindo, and Kaminari). He quickly made
his way to the teacher’s lounge.

Slamming the door open and shut, Izuku looked around at the teachers and grinned while making
his way to the front of the room.

“Please gather around if you’re prepared for a war,” Izuku announced, happily stealing a rice ball
from Aizawa’s lunch. As Snipe, Midnight, Present Mic, Yagi, Aziawa, and Powerloader made
their way to the couches, Izuku clapped his hands together. “Wonderful. Now, Todoroki still hasn’t
let go of his theory that All Might is my father.”

Izuku just rolled his eyes at the laughter that followed that statement and waited. Once the rounds
of laughter died down he started speaking again. “Now, Todoroki has decided to discover if I have
any other family throughout U.A. so,” Izuku grinned before continuing. “Who wants to be related
to me?”

“Can I drop out?” Aizawa asked, causing a few more rounds of laughter as Izuku solemnly shook
his head.

“Nope!” Izuku said cheerily. “We’ve already gotten established as brothers and I’m not messing
this prank up just because you can't be as great of a brother as me.”

The rest of the teachers dissolved into laughter while Aizawa kicked at Izuku’s feet, sending the
boy sprawling on the floor and sending him into a laughing fit.

“Aizawa! I can’t believe you would hurt your Otouto-chan like that!” Present Mic screeched,
causing various teachers to fall out of their seats and join Izuku on the floor.

“My boy, as entertaining as this would be, who would be playing what role?” Yagi asked, sipping
his tea.

Izuku recovered quickly, ready for his various plans to come into play. “Well, Mic could easily
play pseudo-uncle or cousin,” Izuku tilted his head towards the man in question. “And Midnight
can absolutely go for pseudo-aunt or my cousin while PL could play my real uncle or my father
and Snipe is up for uncle or brother.”

“Izuku, why would I be the only one up for the position of your father?” Powerloader asked,
obviously regretting the question when Izuku sent a grin his way.

“If Aizawa is my brother, it’d be weird for the other teachers his age to be anything other than my
aunt and uncle or cousins and siblings and there is one other person up for my father if he so
chooses.” Izuku answers, the others looking rightfully wary at the thought of who else could be up
for the position of Izuku’s father.

“Who would be playing our father?” Aizawa asked, obviously annoyed at the prospect of dealing
with this entire prank but the gleam in his eyes said otherwise ( no matter how huffy and puffy the
man was, they could all tell Aizawa did love his fair share of ‘illogical ruses’- ).

Izuku just smiled sweetly, making most of the teachers ready to back out, and pointed up towards a
vent. Izuku watched Aizawa go through all five stages of grief before glaring at him.

“Nedzu? Really?” Aizawa asked in disbelief.

“It would explain the time that I spend in his office and why I stay after school. Also we can
always be adopted and it would be a matter of national security if he had adopted two, potentially
three, people.”

“Potentially three, youngin? Imma count myself in but I won’t know how to be explaining this to
‘em.” Snipe spoke, obviously ready to claim himself as one of Izuku’s brothers.

“Perfect. I can say I got adopted by Nedzu when we all have the same mother if that works better.”
Izuku said, happy with how many teachers are interested in this.

“I’m in for pseudo-uncle! It’d be easy to explain. OH! We need baby pictures!!” Mic shouted,
followed by a giddy Midnight.
“Alright, alright. Dinner at my house tonight then? I’m going home anyways.” Izuku asked,
looking around the room.

“We’re in! Oh I can’t wait to see your cute baby pictures~!” Midnight announced.

“Fine, but I have a patrol tonight so I’ll be leaving early.” Aizawa huffed out.

“Are you sure your mother is comfortable with this?” Powerloader asked, obviously hesitant to go
over and eat dinner with his co-workers and student.

“No one has to come but my mom has been wanting to meet you all.” Izuku looked down and
shyly scuffed his foot across the floor.

“Oh?” Aizawa asked teasingly. He already knew why ( of course, they had a long talk about
everything the day after Izuku had done all those tests and dropped a concerning amount of
information into their hands- ) so this was just plain tourture for the boy. “And why’s that?”

“Shut up.” Izuku hissed, looking more like an annoyed kitten than anything else which made
several of the teachers laugh. Izuku sighed and ran his hands down his face. “And Powerloader I
promise this won’t be a surprise for her.” Izuku nodded at Yagi who immediately nodded back,
meaning Yagi had already explained the prank and dinner idea to Inko.

Powerloader nodded, a bit apprehensively, but at least the man was on board.

“Now, it might be weird but the second I drop an honorific, go ahead and call me whatever stupid
nickname you want. The only people who have restrictions are Aizawa and Midnight.” Izuku
announced, immediately getting scathing glares from the two who were barred from cutesy
nicknames.

“Why me~” Midnight cried out dramatically. Snipe snorted at her while Present Mic just laughed
at her.

“She makes sense but what’s up with me?” Aizawa huffed out.
Izuku just stared at the man incredulously. “Just consider this my revenge for all those detentions.”

The entire room dissolved into laughter again as Izuku and Aizawa traded stupid quips at each
other back and forth until the lunch period was over, completely ‘oblivious’ to the presence that
had come and gone to the teacher’s lounge.

Todoroki had never been more certain about his friend’s family tree.

Obviously, the theory that All Might was his father was a bit off ( and no he wasn’t bitter about
that- ) but he knows that someone in U.A. is Midoriya’s father .

He was smart enough to figure out that Midoriya would probably be hanging out in the teacher’s
lounge so he quickly ate his meal and dismissed himself from the table. Once he got close enough,
he realized he was hearing laughter and yelling from the room.

Cracking the door open, Todoroki stared at the sight before him.

Midoriya, his shy, sunshine friend, was standing on the coffee table to be the same height as
Aizawa-sensei and the two were bickering back and forth about… detentions ?

Yamada-sensei and Midnight-sensei were laughing while cheering on Midoriya, giving him
suggestions to use against Aizawa-sensei while Snipe-sensei was shaking with laughter and
holding a whistle, obviously playing referee for the brothers. Power Loader-sensei was shaking his
head with his arms crossed but his shoulders were shaking too so Todoroki could deduce he was
either crying or laughing.

Todoroki didn’t think he’d get anymore information about the Midoriya family while standing
there but then his friend said it.

“Okay, okay. Onii-san ,” Midoriya said, turning towards Snipe ( SNIPE-SENSEI??!- ) and pointed
towards Aizawa-sensei. “Obviously, I had the better points as to why I shouldn’t get detentions
three times a week but who do you think won?”

Aizawa-sensei turned to glare at Snipe-sensei, crossing his arms while Midoriya just pointed to
himself and nodded at Snipe-sensei, obviously trying to get Snipe-sensei to pick him.

“I’m sorry Zu-nii ,” Snipe-sensei said, not all that apologetic ( Snipe just called MIDORIYA ZU-
NII?!!- ). “But you know why you be gettin’ those detentions and such. ‘Zawa wins!”

The room exploded into chaos, with Midoriya launching himself at Snipe-sensei and Aizawa-
sensei barking out harsh laughter. Yamada-sensei and Midnight-sensei doubled over, laughing
harder than should be humanly possible while Power Loader-sensei just rolled his eyes and walked
towards the back of the room.

Todoroki just nodded to himself and closed the door, pleased that he got yet another piece of the
puzzle that was Midoriya and the U.A. staff.

Izuku and the other teachers cleared up their laughter quickly after they heard the door to the
lounge close.

“Good catch ‘youngin.” Snipe praised, ruffling Izuku’s hair while he blushed.

Mic and Midnight were still trying to get over their laughter as Aizawa just dragged Izuku towards
the door and gave out a gruff goodbye to the teachers, Izuku waving his goodbyes as well. Once
they were out the door, Aizawa unceremoniously dropped him to the floor and crossed his arms,
grinning vindictively.

“You just earned yourself another detention problem child.” Aizawa said, obviously pleased with
himself. Izuku just glared at the man before huffing.

“Fine but I’m not running for my life again.” That experience was two too many. No one would
want a grinning Aizawa running after them.
It was terrifying .

Aizawa just nodded along, obviously planning a sadistic detention while they walked to the
classroom to get ready for their next class. Aizawa slammed open the door and stalked in ( like the
dramatic fuck he was- ), Izuku following dutifully behind him before slipping into his seat, almost
grinning when he saw Todoroki writing in his notebook with fever.

He looked like a man on a mission and it was obvious that Aizawa hadn’t missed it ( if that
stupidly scary grin on his face was anything to go off of- ) but the man just pretended to shrug it
off as the rest of the class filed in and began with his lesson.

Yeah, hopefully Todoroki will learn his lesson after this.

Izuku was happy when the school day was over and waved off his friends, explaining he was just
staying for detention again and they chuckled and walked off. He didn’t pay any attention to
Aizawa as he walked out, searching for Yagi, which was his first mistake.

His second was wasting precious time getting away from the classroom, resulting in a fully grown
man to drop out of the vent above him and pinning him to the hallway floor.

His third was giggling.

Aizawa was a sadistic man and when he found out something that he could use against someone,
he had too much fun with it. Suffice to say, Izuku was stuck squirming on the ground, panting hard
with shrill screams and breathless giggles leaving his throat before he heard his saving grace.

Footsteps .

Izuku craned his neck to see Yagi standing close by and watched as he smirked at Izuku before
pulling out his phone. Izuku yelled out ‘traitor’ before losing himself to the frantic giggles again,
stuck into a vicious cycle before Aizawa rolled off Izuku to let him breathe.
“Come on, we’re gonna be late because of you.” Aizawa teased. Izuku had half a mind to shove the
man for the comment but he just took the chance to take back his breathing and stand up with him.

“Fine. Fine.” Izuku grumbled out, trudging over to Yagi and walked towards the car. “Surrounded
by traitors and sadists but fine , let’s go see mom and pretend I wasn’t just dying.”

Izuku yelped when Aizawa shoved him and Yagi just rolled his eyes fondly at the pair of idiots.
Quickly, the three made it out to Yagi’s car, noticing how many other cars were still parked.

“Are they all going to follow us?” Izuku asked, slightly terrified of the idea.

Yagi just chuckled and nodded while Aizawa huffed out a fond, “fucking obviously” and Izuku had
two braincells that were screaming at him to call the police ahead of time so nothing to terrible
could occur.

“You have Tsuki on speed dial, right?” Izuku muttered towards Aizawa since Yagi looked like he
was getting into the driver’s seat. Izuku suppressed a shudder at the memory of the first time Yagi
had driven them around.

Long story short, Izuku had felt inclined to ask if Yagi ever had an interest in street racing while
the man just looked at him and smiled.

Aizawa just grinned and quickly slinked towards the passenger seat, obviously not caring about
how likely it was that Izuku would be thrown around in the backseat. I mean, a standard seatbelt
can only protect you from so much and whoever designed Yagi’s car didn’t account for his barely-
legal-driving tendencies.

Izuku quickly whipped out his phone and sent his mother’s address to the staff’s group chat
followed by a simple explanation of, if you can’t keep up :)

In all honesty, Izuku shouldn’t taunt pro-heroes that work all the time and hardly get moments to
have fun. But, he had first-hand experience with Yagi’s driving.

He knows who he’s betting on.

With that thought in mind, Izuku strapped himself in the middle seat and sent a small prayer out to
Kami as Yagi started the car.

12 minutes. A 45 minutes train ride is equivalent to a 12 minute car ride driven by Japan’s Symbol
of Peace.

Izuku, much more used to this than Aizawa, hardly stumbles out of the car and walks into his
house, leaving his guests to fend for themselves ( not true, he just needs to change but don’t tell his
mother he thought that ). Izuku’s mother came to the door and hugged him while simultaneously
moving him towards the bathroom. Ah, right, he really should shower before he eats.

With the motivation of someone who doesn’t want to watch Yagi and their own mom awkwardly
flirt with each other, Izuku runs down the hall and jumps into the shower. He’s sure it was longer
than the 30 seconds that it felt like but soon enough he emerged from the hallway and wandered
into the living room. Izuku had to stifle a laugh when he noticed Aizawa trying valiantly to become
one with their couch cushions while Yagi and Inko were talking and laughing about their days.

Aizawa made eye contact with Izuku and glared at his student while Izuku just shrugged and
walked into the kitchen to prepare himself a cup of tea while they waited for everyone else to
arrive. Izuku, admittedly, did eat a few strawberries until his mother called for him and he took his
cup of tea before scurrying out to the living room and perching himself on the armrest next to
Aizawa.

“Yes, mama?” He said, doing his best not to sound like he was out of breath. A small smirk from
Aizawa told him that he didn’t hide it well enough.

“When did you say the others would be getting here?” She asked with all the innocence that came
with not joining Yagi on his speed-racing expeditions.

“Oh,” Izuku said, faintly smirking. “They all left a few minutes later than us so they should be here
within the next ten minutes.”

Izuku listened to Aizawa’s snort and rolled his eyes towards the man, hoping he’d be content to
ignore his lies since Yagi and Izuku came up with the compromise that they wouldn’t inform Inko
so long as Yagi allowed Izuku to practice driving with the man (since he didn’t seem particularly
interested in following street laws in the first place).

In retaliation to Aizawa’s snort, Izuku shook out his wet curls towards Aizawa. The man just put
his hand on Izuku’s face and shoved him off the armrest, almost making him drop his cup of tea on
the carpet. Izuku had no interest in dying by his mother’s hand this early in life so he made sure to
send a nasty glare towards Aizawa before getting himself settled on the floor, pointedly ignoring
Yagi and Inko’s amused laughter.

The Midoriya’s front door burst open with an excited Midnight hauling in a traumatized looking
Present Mic. Yagi and Izuku shared a look before shrugging. They could ( probably ) figure out
how to play off anything they say unless they had a video of Yagi’s take-off.

The two newest additions just shed off their shoes and slipped on some guest slippers before
making their way over to the living room.

“Welcome!” Izuku’s mother said, getting up from her seat. “Would you like any tea or water?”

“Oh, just all the baby pictures and cute stories of the little listener you’ve got!”

Izuku groaned, knowing how long his mother could talk about his toddler years if given the
chance. It was not Izuku’s fault he had a tendency to get himself in the weirdest spots and promptly
falling asleep there nor was it his fault that he tended to fall asleep in the middle of meals ( his
mother having to rescue him from drowning in cereal and noodles on too many times for the action
to be worrisome anymore ). He couldn’t help it! Although, he really didn’t want Aizawa to know
about that little bit of information.

Aizawa does not need more blackmail material on Izuku; he already has enough from living in the
dorms together.

Izuku’s mother just lit up in the way that she would when she had a particularly amusing story on
her mind and couldn’t help the groan that escaped his lips nor the way that he let his forehead hit
the coffee table. She just chuckled at his antics and excused herself before walking briskly down
the hall, presumably towards their sowing room.

Izuku lifted his head in time to watch Yagi turn back around from where he was watching Izuku’s
mother walk down the hall and he glared at the man, knowing his mentor could feel it. He took
pleasure in the way Yagi smiled awkwardly towards Izuku when he realized he’d been caught but
under no circumstances did he intend to speak the unforgivable out loud so Izuku just ignored it.

Quickly, Inko made her way back towards the living room with a large photo album in her hands
and a smaller one on top. She came around the coffee table to sit closer to Izuku and situated
herself on the floor to better face her audience. Izuku took that opportunity to steal the smaller
album, succeeding for 3 seconds before his mother used her quirk to force it back into her awaiting
hands.

Before he could do much more than glare half-heartedly, the front door opened again with a loud
and obnoxious, “Howdy!” followed by a grumble that could only come from Maijima. Izuku
ignored their new guests as best as he could and stared earnestly at his mother, hoping that she
would leave the little album out of this.

“What’s this, y’all startin without us?” Snipe drawled as he took a seat next to Yagi on the couch,
Maijima following suit. Thankfully, neither of the men had their face masks/helmets on so they
could eat and not bump into any walls throughout their house. It wasn’t like they didn’t have
money for a nice house but both residents were fairly short and small, neither words that described
any of their guests at the moment, so there was no need to upgrade.

“We’re just starting hunny,” Inko said in that motherly tone that made you think you were finally
home. It was very amusing to see Snipe visibly blue-screen for a second before sending a large grin
her way. “We’ll start with the bigger album first since Izu over here is a bit nervous.”

Izuku just sent his mother the most betrayed look he could before flopping backwards on the
carpet. He was happy to get at least a few chuckles from everyone there but he was still suffering,
and he knew they knew it.

With a flourish, Izuku’s mother opened the front cover and picked out a few photos before laying
the book in the middle of the coffee table. She passed a photo to Midnight and one to Aizawa. Oh
great .

“Oh, what’s the story behind this one?” Aizawa asked, sounding much too amused for his liking.
Izuku hadn’t even seen which photo he was looking at but he didn’t trust the grin currently
adorning Aizawa’s face.

“Well,” Izuku’s mother started, giggling softly into her hand. “Izu was around 5 or 6? And he
found out that some heroes used parkour moves to get around.” Izuku groaned, knowing where this
story was going while Aizawa’s grin only grew wider as he showed the picture to Maijima, who
began laughing softly. “Anyways, as you can see, he decided he was going to train and built up
things that he could jump over. That is obviously our couch cushions sitting on the floor with a
blanket over it. Izuku ran at it for hours before finally jumping it and face-planting into the floor.”

Aizawa passed off the picture to Snipe’s grabby hands and snorted to himself at Inko’s recollection
of the event. Izuku couldn’t even protest it because, in reality, Izuku had kept that cushion obstacle
in place for a day before his mom threatened to move it back and finally jumped it.

“I don’t know why I subjected myself to this.” Izuku half-heartedly grumbled out, batting away
Aizawa’s hand that was coming up to ruffle his hair.

Izuku’s mother just laughed fondly before turning her attention to Midnight and Present mic’s
questioning gazes, obviously excited for the story behind their photo.

“That one was the first…vindictive side I got to see of Izuku. It was Halloween night and he had
dressed like All Might, of course, and another kid was dressed in a different All Might costume.
The other kid told Izuku that he dressed up in the wrong era and Izuku took his candy bag and
wacked the other boy over the head before yelling out about why All Might’s Silver Age costume
was the best.”

Izuku groaned and held his head in his hands as his mother finished the story. He remembered that
well, actually. He had verbally ripped into that random boy on the street and broke down
everything his little mind could think of about why his All Might was the best. Kayama and
Yamada were howling with laughter after her story was over, passing around the picture that
showed Izuku mid-swing with his candy bag, glaring with all the fierceness he could at eight years
old towards a taller kid in a different yet similar costume as Izukus.

Yagi chuckled, looking far too amused at the idea of his successor dressing up like him as a child.
Izuku just hid his face in his hands again, tipping his body sideways so he could land on Aizawa’s
legs. He could feel the amused huff coming from Aizawa as the older man just spread his legs so
Izuku could have an easier time hiding away from his current distress.

Their guests took a few moments to flip through the picture album, asking Inko about certain
pictures and chuckling along with her at some of the stories. Izuku huffed out laughter when he felt
Aizawa stiffen in shock while Inko fondly reminisced about her and Izuku pouring over different
languages and codes to develop his own for his notebooks at the ripe age of nine.

And then the time came; Izuku’s mother placed the smaller album down on the coffee table quietly
and he groaned.
“Why’s this one so bad?” Yamada asked, nearly sounding concerned, but he still sounded too
amused while observing Izuku’s curled form around Aizawa’s legs. Izuku just groaned again as an
answer.

Inko giggled lightly behind her hand. “Well, this one is completely filled with Izuku sleeping.”

Izuku glanced at his teachers from behind his hands. They all seemed to be trying to understand
why it would be entertaining to see Izuku’s sleeping form. Kayama got impatient and opened the
album cover, squealing in delight and heavy laughter once she peered inside.

Inko just spoke above her antics as the album was passed around. “Izuku had a habit of falling
asleep in his food when he was younger. He isn’t the best morning person-”

“ Mom! ”

“- and because of that, he almost always falls asleep during his breakfast.” Inko finished, looking
all too smug at showing off her ‘precious collection.’ It wasn’t Izuku’s fault he didn’t like waking
up. He’s seen each and every one of the photos his mother was offering to the heroes surrounding
him and he knows for a fact she had to save him from drowning in his cereal a few too many
times.

And now his entire support system knew. Oh god .

“Really?” Aizawa said, butting in with the largest grin Izuku had seen. He’s never going to live this
down, especially since he hounds Aizawa for his sleeping tendencies. “I haven’t seen this happen
in the dorms yet.”

Inko just softly chuckled and nodded, eyes filled with mirth. “I’m not surprised. Izu tends to get up
early so people don’t know about this particular habit.”

Izuku was still wearing a look of betrayal as his teachers continued laughing at the pictures they
were seeing. Aizawa looked especially excited about this and Izuku was not interested in why the
older man was close to wearing his ‘logical grin’ which meant his peaceful dorm life was about to
die.
Just great.

Privately, Izuku wonders if this is what family actually felt like. Izuku’s never had a large family
before so he’s not really sure if this fond exasperation is a good thing or not. His mother used to say
they didn’t have a large family because Izuku had a tendency to try and adopt anyone he saw that
needed help. While that may have some truth, he still hasn’t ever had big family gatherings such as
this.

It was really only him and his mom all these years. That thought made him want to tear up so he
just groaned again at Snipe’s laughter and buried his face into ‘Zawa’s calf. Sure, the man would
probably be able to feel the tears that are being hidden from everyone else but Izuku has an odd
trust with the man that’s pretending to be his older brother.

Izuku was brought out of his musings when he felt laughter vibrate through Zawa's body and the
man brought down a hand to rub Izuku’s scalp. Izuku felt him bend down so they could whisper to
each other. “Izuku, we will not be sharing this part of your life with the other students if that’s your
concern.”

Izuku just shook his head softly and did his best to play off a sniff. “That’s not it. I just…haven’t
actually experienced this kind of thing before.”

Zawa’s hand in his hair stilled for a moment before resuming again. “The teasing?”

Izuku turned his face so his cheek was resting on the man’s leg and gave him a soft smile. “No. It
was just me and my mom, so I guess all of the family-ish stuff we’re doing just got to me.”

Izuku watched Zawa’s eyes soften as he listened to his explanation. “Don’t worry kid. You’ll be
stuck with us for family shit for a long time.”

Izuku felt more tears come to his eyes and he playfully glared at the older man before hissing out,
“I just got done crying. Did you want your pant leg to be soaked?”

Zawa just let out a soft laugh at him while Izuku scrubbed at his face to try and clean up his tears.
He also listened to the other teacher’s laughing and cackling along with Inko as they went through
more of Izuku’s troublesome toddler years and the stories behind certain photos.
Yeah, Izuku didn’t mind dealing with feelings of fond exasperation for his new family. They were
stuck with him whether they knew it or not.

Dinner was…different. Not bad in any way! Just so completely different from what he was used to
dealing with.

‘Zashi threw his napkin at Nemuri more times than Izuku cared to count while the woman was
cackling as she told stories about the man’s younger years and how they lined up with Izukus.
Apparently the two of them seemed to have had a few shared traits throughout their childhoods.

For example, Zashi never knew when to quit until he got hurt by his own stupid plans and actions
and even then, it took alot of covincing for him to step away. It was really nice to know that Izuku
wasn’t alone with his chaotic trait; that was something he hid behind a mask so the other kids
wouldn’t make fun of him for running around and doing something stupid for the sake of it.

Yagi had also tried flirting with Inko while they were at the table and Snipe just laughed at him,
saying Todoroki really was going to be right with his theory one of these days. That made Zawa
laugh hard enough to choke on his drink, which made Izuku laugh even though he was still
embarrassed about the whole thing.

It was a completely different breath of fresh air that Izuku didn’t know he was missing out on. It
was as if he had lived his entire life inside a factory and was finally able to go outside and see the
sunlight and green grass.

He honestly never wanted to give this up.

Even if it started out as a prank, Izuku has a feeling his mother will be forcing their new family
members into coming over every month so they can enjoy dinner like this again. Kami, he can’t
wait until they come over so Izuku could learn some more about their childhoods.

Eventually, Aizawa had to leave. The older man made sure to ruffle Izuku’s hair up ridiculously
before he left, thanking them for the food and company. After that, more and more of his new
family began making their way back to U.A. or to their own agencies. Finally, Yamada had to grab
something from the station and start working on his next radio set, so he and Kayama made their
way out to the front door. Kayama sent a wink towards Yagi and Izuku just groaned as she cackled
all the way back to their car.

And then Inko, Izuku’s mother, his shining light in the darkness, asked Yagi to stay over for the
night. Izuku sent the nastiest glare over Inko’s shoulder and gestured to her, making sure Yagi
wouldn’t say no, and then said his goodnights and he bolted down the hallway.

Even if he wanted the man to stay, that was his mother’s sake and her sake only, which meant he
had no business trying to figure out what they were doing together.

Izuku just grabbed his night clothes and slid them on before jumping into his bed and indulging
himself by scrolling through social media. Eventually, his eyes got harder to keep open and he fell
asleep with a soft smile on his face, ready for what his Tuesday would look like.
