Reminder
When we compare between two things, we use adjective + than
1- Short adjectives ( one syllable/ end with ‘y’): adjective + er + than
2- Long adjectives: ( two syllables or more): more / less + adjective + than

Activity Four: Write a short paragraph talking about your preferences using the information you have
listened to. Study the verbs after ‘prefer’ then discuss to write a reminder.

Dear Celia,
I’ve received your email recently and I was happy to hear about you Celia, thank you so much. I quickly
began to type to you these few words to be closer friends and to know more and more about you and your
country.
My name’s Barbara Thompson. I am a 16 year-old Polish girl. I am average height with very long fair
hair, and green eyes.
I go to a high school. I am a junior student in the scientific stream. In Poland, school usually begins at 8
o’clock except Saturdays and Sundays because everybody is on weekend. My friends and I often practice
tennis and We rarely go to cinema on weekends. But I never forget to revise my lessons. Computing is one of
my preferable subject in school and I’m keen on it.
My family and I live in Warsaw. It is the capital city of Poland. My house is situated in the rural outskirts
of the capital and it takes a lot of time to get to my school which is in the capital center. This is why I always
go there by bus. Dad is a car penter and my mother is a teacher. She is excellent in her job. I have two
brothers; Ted is 10 years old. He is a pupil too. John is 5 years old. He does not go to school yet. My mother
takes him to the nursery. I have an adorable cat.
Finally, this is all I can tell you now. I will tell you more about my country in my next e-mail.
