environmental consciousness that hinder our practice of sustainable development.

Materials: White board, pictures and the textbook.

Look at the picture below and answer your teacher’s questions :

1. What do you see in the Picture?


2. What is being thrown and poured into the sea?
3. Is the boat in the picture cleaning the sea?
4. How do we call this type of pollution?

Key:
1. I see: a pipe, the sea/ ocean, trash, waste, oil spill, a boat, cans, bottles… etc.
2. Garbage/ trash and toxic waste/chemicals are/ is being thrown and poured into the sea.
3. No, it isn’t.
4. We call it water pollution.

Read the text p 77 and answer the following questions.
1. How much of Earth’s water is seawater ?

3. What do we need water for ?
4. What happens to water over time ?

Key:
1. 97% of Earth’s water is seawater.
2. No, we don’t.
3. We need water for cooking, bathing, transportation and recreation.
4. Over time, water is recycled over and over again.
