Project name: Coastal Clean-up On The Move!

Introduction

·       Today we live in a global consumer society. People across the world purchase, use, and dispose a
huge variety of products which makes our lives easier and more comfortable. However, the
result of this is a massive damage to our environment.

·       Worldwide, hundreds of marine species have been negatively impacted by marine debris
(plastics), which can harm or kill an animal when it is ingested or they become entangled, and
can threaten the habitats they depend on. Marine debris can also interfere with navigation safety
and potentially pose a threat to human health.

·       Plastics is a great factor that causes water pollution which greatly affects the survival of marine
animals.

·       This project is a coastal clean up in Iloilo that aims to reduce the harmful effects of plastic
pollution in coastal areas, marine animals and to humans.

·       this project wants to accomplish such as: reduce pollution particularly water pollution, maintain
cleanliness in coastal areas, reduce the suffering/deaths of marine animals due to plastics, and
to increase awareness of the people to the importance of clean coastal areas

Purpose

·       Our main aim is to reduce pollution particularly water pollution, maintain cleanliness in coastal
areas, reduce the suffering/deaths of marine animals due to plastics, and to increase awareness
of the people to the importance of clean coastal areas

·       To reduce air, water, and soil pollution

·       To increase the awareness of the people to the importance of clean coastal areas

·       To reduce the toxicity in water so that marine lives can live in a clean water

·       To reduce the deaths of marine species due to toxicity in water due to plastics.

·       To reduce the deaths of marine species due to the plastics that they ingested and/or become
entangled

·       The project is worth sponsoring for it will reduce water pollution, maintain cleanliness in coastal
areas, and reduce the suffering/ deaths of marine species due to marine debris (plastics)

Description

·       The project will gather people, particularly youths who are only interested in cleaning the coastal
areas. The project will be happening in coastal areas in Iloilo.
·       For those people that will join the project, they will be given free snacks after the clean up and
handwashing.

·       During  the clean up, COVID protocols will be properly observed like social distancing, wearing
of face mask and handwashing.

·       We will bring enough garbage bag for the collected plastics

·       We will bring enough hand soaps for the handwashing.

Support

The estimated budget will be around Php 5,000- 7,000 this includes snacks, cleaning
materials, hand soap, face masks and gas.
