Heart and tongue diseases

Manners are one of the most important virtues that every single person should have,
Muslim or non-Muslim they are one of the first things a child learns in their early years of
learning. In a hadith prophet Mohammad says, “The best among the believers are those of best
manners”. The prophet also stated, “Good manners of a believer raise him to the level of a person
who fasts all day and prays all night”.

Some heart diseases include being neglectful which is not following the commands of Allah
and not taking proper precautions to guard your heart from ruin. Another heart disease is
becoming to occupied with earthy and worldly things this doesn’t mean not enjoying your
life at all it just means finding balance in life and praying to Allah and following the
commands of Allah while still enjoying your life. Some people take this as reason to become
extremist which is not the way of the prophet. Arrogance is one of the worst heart diseases
this was the first sin committed by Iblis when Allah asked all the creations to bow to
prophet Adam but Iblis disobeyed Allah and refused because he thought himself more
superior to prophet Adam because he is created from fire and prophet Adam is created from
clay. Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said “Whoever has a mustard seed’s weight of arrogance in his
heart, shall not be admitted into paradise” narrated by Tirmidhi. He (pbuh) also said “shall I tell
you of the people of paradise? They comprise every poor humble person, and if swears by Allah to do
something, Allah will fulfill it; while the people of the fire comprise every violent cruel arrogant
person” narrated by Bukhari. Hypocrisy is another example of heart diseases, the prophet
(pbuh) said, “whoever has the following 4 characteristics will be a pure hypocrite and whoever has
one of the 4 will have the characteristics of hypocrisy unless and until he gives it up. 1. Whenever he is
entrusted, he betrays, 2. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie, 3. Whenever he makes an agreement, he
proves unfaithful, 4. Whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, evil and insulting way”
Hypocrites are people who say they believe in Allah and his prophet and show by action
when they really hate Islam and disbelieve in the religion. The last heart disease I’ll be
talking about is envy. Envy is when someone is jealous of someone else and wishes their
blessing to be taken away from the other person and given to them instead. Allah tells us to
take refuge from the one who envies in chapter 113 of the Quran.

Some tongue diseases include mockery which is trying to make someone feel bad about
themselves and trying to put them down. A tongue disease that is really important to try
avoiding and is normalised now a day in society is backbiting. Backbiting is talking about
someone without them knowing even if it is true information, and if it is false information
that is being said and spread around that is considered slandering. Another tongue disease
is disclosure the secrete which means spreading around a secret you were trusted with
which can cause lack of trust in the community and will put others down. Two faced people
are also an example being two faced is basically acting nice around someone you don’t like
and then going and talking bad behind their back. The last tongue disease I’ll be talking
about is Animosity which is for example you have a fight or argument with your friend or
someone in general and having hatred in your heart towards that person.
