Green Screen Project

The first thing I did in my project was using the Ultra Key
effect on my Ben Lomas green screen clip. This allowed me to
select a part of the green background in order to get rid of
anything there.
When I selected the background with the colour select tool, I
changed the view from “Composite” to “Alpha Channel”. This
showed me what was being taken away (The black parts) and
what was staying (The white parts).

I then adjusted the settings above to make the background

black and to make Ben stand out.
As you can see, I adjusted all those settings and Ben stands
out a lot more than before with only a couple of stray white
parts where the wall meets the floor in the green screen
room.

After this, I changed my view back to “Composite” in order to

see how the green screening looked after using the ultra key,
I think it turned out well.
Next, I made my source clip the ocean background and I used
the little square underneath this to drag the clip only
(without the audio) onto the timeline. I moved my green
screen Ben above that clip to make Ben appear on top.
I then moved Ben off of the screen and clicked on the
stopwatch next to “Rotation” and “Position”, this made a
keyframe at the very start.

Once the starting keyframes were in place, I could then make

more to make Ben look like he is swimming in the ocean. I
also adjusted how smoothly or sharply the rotation
happened to Ben by dragging the lines between the
keyframes up and down.
I then dragged my bubble effect onto the timeline and made
its opacity 50% so that it wasn’t a solid cover over the top of
everything. I changed the blend mode to overlay too so that
it looked like Ben’s colour was being affected by being
underwater.

Next, I had to put in some sound effects, I used two. One was
an underwater rumble which constantly played throughout
the clip. The other one was a bubble dripping sound which I
had cut bits out of to put into the clip too.
To cut up my sound effects, I used the in and out feature
(hotkeys: I + O), when I had finished finding the in and out of
the sound effect, I just dragged it onto the timeline.
After doing all of that, I got my finished result and this is how
my timeline looked. To see my finished result, visit my
Weebly page.
