The ideal length of the promotional video is between 2 minutes 30 seconds and 3 minutes. This allows time to introduce each player and show their skills, as well as include partners and those working with the esports team. 1. What is the ideal duration for your video and why?
- The ideal duration for my video is between 2 mins and 30 seconds and 3 minutes. This is because after watching other eSports team promotional videos, I have found that my favourite ones are around that length. Additionally, this length gives you the perfect amount of time to introduce each player and show what they can do. It also leaves some time to show partners to the eSports team and people they’re working with. 2. What visual content might you include and why? - I would include some gameplay solely because I want to show people what the team can do. I would also show solo player shots as they are being introduced and I want to make each entrance work with the music. At the end of the video, I would have a team shot and all players will be wearing their eSports shirts. I would also like to have promotional content that is tailored to who the partners of the team are. If we have any, I would like to show some crowd shots in the video that hypes up the video a bit more. 3. What visual content won’t you include and why? - I won’t include player interviews like in the cloud 9 video, this is because I feel like the audience wants to see the gameplay and what the players look like. I feel like people want to get straight down to business when consuming content these days, therefore, interviews only being a hindrance to them leading them to click off of the video. 4. Links to songs you might use and why? - For my video, I have decided these two songs would suit the style of it. The first song is called: “Warriors” featuring 2WEI. This song has a lot of drum beats which the video can be timed to. This makes the video more amusing to watch and raises the overall quality in my opinion. The second song is called: “Oh the Larceny”. This song is an alternative/indie song that is perfect for a montage-like promotion video. There are a lot of beats I can sync the video up with to produce a higher- quality piece of content. 5. What is your video's overall purpose/intent, and how will you make your audience understand this? - The purpose of the video will be to show others what the team are capable of and to prove that we will make a big impact on esports. I will make the audience understand this by using clips from in games to show good gameplay to intimidate other teams.
