In the Spotlight @ Zlatarski International School

We celebrated Science fair at Zlatarski International School of Sofia - Grade 8: Our 8th graders recently did their

Grade 7: During English classes our 7 graders designed and created their
own summer camps considering all the aspects for organisation of a summer
camp. They used different structured examples and their imagination to
create extraordinary innovative projects.

EYP: More than 70 students took part in the annual European Youth
Parliament debate session at the school. The committees, chaired by
students, discussed topics such as culture, democracy, rights, economics,
security, health, education, social policy, environment, business and
innovation. Students from grades 8, 9, 10 and 11 debated in English their
committee proposals. Debate skills are essential and we are proud Zlatarski
School have the opportunity to present and defend their opinions in such for
fora. The Environment committee won for its resolution “Build hoses from
plastic waste”, chaired by Nicole (10b). The award for Best Speaker went to
Niya (10c)

In the Spotlight:

Grade 8: During Science classes 8th grade students explored the structure of
plant and animals cells and found out the differences between them. 8th
graders also prepared blood smear samples and observed different types of
blood cells: leukocytes (WBC) and erythrocytes (RBC).

Grade 9: How does the hydraulic elevator work? How do bacteria grow? These
were two of the questions explored by our students from 9th grade Mila, Mila,
Elena and Servay. They prepared their projects in the school laboratory.

Grade 10: During Science fair week our 10th graders explored how to make
lava lamps and how to stand on paper cups without breaking them. Niya, Ivi
and Iuli (10b/c) presented their project in a very engaging way. Research and
presentation skills are essential and we are proud that our students at Zlatarski
engage in numerous research activities.

Grade 11: Before the end of the school year our 11th graders showed their
knowledge in a mock examination session. Students from grade 11 had the
opportunity to show what they’ve learned during the year and track their
progress in Bulgarian A, Math, Economics, History, Physics, Biology, ICT and
Chemistry.

Grade 12: On the 26th May our 12th graders celebrated their prom. Good luck
to everyone in the future. Zlatarski International School- Sofia is proud of our
