OBSERVE

Observe a class and interview the Resource Teacher. Ask how the personal and physical aspects of classroom
management ensure proper classroom management and discipline.
Check if these aspects were observed classroom.

Aspects of Classroom Management YES NO

1. Personal Classroom Management 
1.1 Is the teacher well- groomed that he/she demands respect from the learners 
1.2 Is the teachers voice modulated and can be heard by the entire class? 
1.3 Was the teacher present in class? 
1.4 Did the teacher arrive on time in class? 
1.5 Does the teacher exude positive attitude towards teaching? 
2. Physical Classroom Management
2.1 Is the classroom well -ventilated? 
2.2 Is the lighting good enough? 
2.3 Is the classroom free noise? 
2.4 Does the seating arrangement provide better interaction? 
2.5 Is the design/ structure of the room inviting to classroom activities? 
2.6 Is the physical space / learning station clear from obstruction? 

ANALYZE

Analyze the different elements of personal / physical classroom management and answer the following questions?

1. How does the voice of the teacher affect classroom instruction?

- Based what I observed, the teacher has a well-modulated voice that is highly attractive to the students
for them to listen attentively and fully participate in the class. The lives and futures of the students are
guided with their teachers. As a result, teachers promote all students’ perspectives, which has an
effect on learning in the classroom. Students become nervous when teachers had a loud voice while
teaching. However, I believe this is how other teachers change their behaviors. Their voices are quite
powerful, and they make a classroom into something pleasant of any teaching strategy used in the
classroom is to benefit the students.

2. How does the punctuality of the teacher affect classroom discipline?

- The teacher’s punctuality shows persistence and determination in his/her work to set a good role
model for his/her students because a punctual teacher gives a student a better opportunity to deal with
their daily tasks and avoid acting out on their own, punctuality in the classroom has a big impact on
keeping proper classroom discipline and preparing the way for success for all students. And besides
the best behavior for students to acquire a good discipline and how to manage their own time in going 89
to school is the punctuality of the teacher.

3. Why do we need to check on the physical aspect of classroom management?

- It can help learning development and improvement as well as the prevention of behavioral issues. A
well-designed classroom management strategy can help in enhancing both learning and behavior. The
physical design of the classroom has the potential to influence both student and teacher behavior.
In order for the teacher and students to have an effective class discussion and satisfaction with how
and what they want to study, it is important to look at the physical aspect of the classroom
management. It is also important to inspect since the physical aspects of the classroom can help in
students’ learning, teach them to respect their limits, and assure their safety while in class.

REFLECT

Reflect on the aspects of personal and classroom management?

1. What does this statement mean to you as a future teacher? Explain.

“No amount of good instruction will come out without effective classroom management”.

- It implies that there won’t be a successful classroom without good instruction. The objective should
be to provide an organized learning environment that supports students’ academic competencies and
skills as well as their personal and social development, since classroom management is effective
because it increases students’ engagement.

2. What are your plans in ensuring effective classroom management?

- I should first make a set of rules that address any misbehavior or disruption that might take place in
my classroom before implementing a classroom management strategy. As a future educator, in order
to achieve effective classroom management, I have a lot of plans and techniques. The first of my
strategies focuses on how to develop the qualities of a good teacher, specifically how to be
considerate and approachable. As a good teacher, I should always be flexible and approachable
regarding the perceptions and behaviors of various students. In this way, I’ve already taken action to
ensure successful classroom management. Second thing is the interpersonal aspect of discipline in the
classroom. The main responsibility of a teacher has is to always be a role model for the students in
their behavior and to teach good discipline in students. Yet, let’s talk about respect and how important
that is. In addition, I should always be at school on time so that my students develop good time
management learning and the development of discipline. I generally emphasize having a positive
attitude towards teaching as a future educator. And lastly, I will make sure that the classroom is safe,

90
secure and organize including the proper lighting, ventilation, seating arrangement, and structure
design. Furthermore, I can hold students accountable for their wrong doings without having to shout,
scold, or criticize students. Those plans, through helping students in organizing the classroom,
decreasing disruptive behavior, setting limits, and imposing some consequences, I can increase
students for success.

ACTIVITY 7.2 Demonstrating knowledge of positive and non –violent discipline the management of
learner behavior.

ANALYZE

Analyze the checklist you have accomplished and answer the given questions.

1. How many strategies were employed by the Resource Teacher? Did these contribute to better classroom
management? Explain your answer.

- The resource teacher employed a variety of teaching methods in the classroom, including guided
instructions, cooperative learning, and providing feedback. As I observed, her students are very
socially engaged in class, and some of them are following to their teacher’s instructions, so it is quite
effective. From what I heard and saw, each of those tactics helps to maintain effective classroom
management. She used the most effective techniques for making both students and teachers more
accountable, productive and eager to learn. To improve future outcomes, it is essential to use these
strategies in the classroom. The teacher gave students with high-quality instruction and made a major
contribution.

2. What were not used by the Resource Teacher? Were these important? What should have been used instead?
Explain.
- Addressing her students’ errors since, when they do anything wrong, they should be provided with a
solution after the class discussion. During her class few of her students had escaped, the following
day before the class started resource teacher told the students who escaped to find her after the class.
On the other hand, it’s advantageous to create a learning environment in the classroom when making
mistakes is encouraged because it makes students feel intimidated through difficulties.

REFLECT

As future teacher, reflect on the observations then answer the given questions.

1. What classroom management strategies do I need to employ to respond to diverse of learners?

- I’ll start to know my students what are their strengths and weaknesses, as well as what do they love or
admire because they are not all the same. They must acknowledge and accept their differences.
Second, As their teacher I will acknowledge and value each and everyone of my students because I
am the one will guide them along the right path and teach them to be the best version of themselves.
And lastly, I’ll develop relationships with my students frequently. Also I want to enhance my
interactions with my students for them to develop socializing, stay awake during my class and act
enthusiastically.
