PUBLICATION OF NOTES AND REVIEW: the notes will be published in the Information System and together with the
publication, the date and time of the review will be announced.

REGULATION:

- Put your name and surname on all the sheets in the space provided. Each problem has to be solved on the given
space.
- The exam is individual. Any copy or attempt to copy would result in a failure in the course.
- All mobile devices must be turned off and must not be accessed at any time during the exam.
- Only non-programmable scientific calculators can be used.
- During the last quarter of the exam, questions can no longer be asked.
- No one is allowed to leave the room, while the exam is ongoing, unless you are already finished with your exam.
- The exam lasts 2 hours.

Exercise 2 (2 points; 20 minutes estim.)

a) Calculate the intensity of current flowing on every branch and the voltage at each of the circuit elements.
You can indicate the values in the circuit provided.
Note: you can resolve the circuit without utilizing the systematic techniques (Superposition, Kirchhoff,
Thévenin/Norton).
b) Based on the above results, justify which are supplying power (active sources) and which are receiving power
(passive sources).

Exercise 7 (1 point; 15 minutes estim.)

Resolve the following questions:

a) We have a 47KW resistor that according to the manufacture has a maximum voltage of 120 V and a nominal power
of ¼W at 80ºC. If we know that the maximum current that can circulate through the resistor is 2 mA at an ambient
temperature of 100ºC before it begins to burn, what is its maximum operating temperature?

b) We have a resistor with the power dissipation curve given below. If we apply a 10 V, then its self-heating
(difference between internal and ambient temperature) is 50ºC. What is the value of its resistance?

1W

70ºC 150ºC
