Salim Ali National Park is located at Srinagar. Snow cock, Hangul, Serow, Chakar and
Monal are the wild life living in this park.
Changthang Cold Desert WLS is situated in Leh. Black-necked Crane, Brahminy Ducks,
Brown-headed Gulls are the wild life of this place.
Dachigam National Park is located at Srinagar. Nature walks and Trekking are the
adventurous activities of this park. Musk Deer, Kashmir Stag, Hangul, Leopards, Himalayan
Brown Bear, Jackals, Yellow-throated Martens, Hill Fox, Himalayan Gray Langurs, Long-
tailed Marmots, Leopard Cats, Himalayan Black Bear, Himalayan Weasel, Jungle Cats,
Himalayan Monals, Cinnamon Sparrows, Black Bulbuls, Woodpeckers, Minivets, Pygm are
the wildlife living in the park.
The Wildlife sanctuaries present in this state are Ramnagar Wildlife Sanctuary, Nandini
Wildlife Sanctuary, Surinsar Mansar Wildlife Sanctuary, Jasrota Wildlife Sanctuary,
and Overa Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Forts and Palaces of Jammu & Kashmir are equally famous as the mountains. The most
popular forts, palaces and museums of Jammu & Kashmir are Amar Mahal Palace
Museum, Bahu Fort, Leh Palace, Hari Prabat Fort, and Mubarak Mandi Palace.

by name Trikuta Bhagwat hill.
Ranbireshwar Temple is a very popular temple in the state of Jammu and the deity of this
temple is Lord Shiva.
Some of the most popular craft works of Jammu & Kashmir are Carpets, Namdas, Papier
Mache, Chain Stitch and Crewel Furnishings, Silks and Tweeks, Pherans, Shawls,
Basketry, Walnut Wood, Copper and Silverware, Weaving and Embroidery, Wood
work and Carving, and Papier-mache craft.
The Embroidery work of Jammu & Kashmir is called Kasida and is world famous. The
Shawls and Carpets that are made in Kashmir are rich in color and are most attractive.
Papier-mache craft is very peculiar in Kashmir and some of the famous products include
comprise picture-frames, pen-cases, screens, tables, tea-pots, writing sets, candle-sticks,
handkerchief and tie boxes, vases, stamp boxes and other utility goods.

The festivals of Jammu & Kashmir would be very colorful and are very traditional. Almost

ones are Baisakhi, Bahu Mela, Chaitre Chaudash, Purmandal Mela, Jhiri Mela, and
Navratra Festival.
Bahu Mela is celebrated in the month of September to October and is a major festival
of the state.
Chaitre Chaudash is celebrated in the state of Uttar Behni which is about 25 kms
away from Jammu.
The most popular dances of Jammu & Kashmir are Ruf Dance, Bachha Nagma Dance,
Dandaras Dance, and Ladishah.
