IPX3 / IPX4 OSCILLATING SPRAY TESTS
This product is intended for IPX3 “Protection against spraying water” and IPX4 “Protection
against splashing water” tests. The IP Code Standard is IEC 60529.
IPX3 testing involves a reduced number of nozzles on each tube (caps provided) and a spray
angle of 60º each side from center (120º arc).
IPX4 testing involves a higher number of nozzles on each tube (no caps over nozzles) and a
spray angle of near 180º each side from center (near 360º arc).
The system also has the capability to perform IPX4K, if you purchase the necessary items.
The system may be used in conjunction with an ED&D wet location turntable (such as model ETI-25) and the ED&D
wet location telescoping tilt support model ETI-35 (accessory for the turntable). NOTE – you are not required to rotate
the test sample. However, for IPX4 testing, you will need to elevate the sample to allow the spray tube to pass under
the sample (near 360º arc). These devices will make set-up faster and testing easier.

Special Feature!: ED&D uses individual caps to cover the open holes that are not in use vs. competitors that use a
large plate that is mostly ineffective…water tends to spray everywhere.

ACCESSORIES – SPRAY TUBES: Spray tubes are not included with the Oscillating Spray System.
Spray tubes with different radius are available to allow for testing different sized samples. All spray
nozzles are 0.4 mm ID. All nozzle spacings are 50 mm on centers.
The larger the tube, the more the tube will wobble as it reaches its rotation ends. To significantly reduce
the wobble, we recommend use of the Spray Tube Dampener, Model OTU-TUBE-D for tubes sized 600
mm and larger.
