PART 1. EVALUATE
1. Summarize the tasks and familiarization of a watch keeping officer.
• In general, the task of a watch keeping officer is to be familiar with all the bridge equipment on
board to make sure the safety of it and bridge equipment must be operated effectively. The
task of the watch keeping officer is to:
- understand the status, capabilities, and limitations of all bridge equipment
- be aware of the ship's speed, turning circles, and handling characteristics
- create, carry out, and monitor a safe passage plan and;
- ensure that the watch is handed over in accordance with shipboard operation procedures
and that assistance is requested whenever necessary.

2. How are shipboard training records maintained and organized onboard?

• The training record book must be provided to the candidates and shall enable a comprehensive
record of practical training and experience at sea to be maintained. Training record shall be
laid out in such a way that it can provide detailed information about the tasks and duties
which shall be undertaken and the progress towards their completion.

3. Explain how national legislation affect the maritime conventions.

• National legislation affects the maritime conventions through it’s effectiveness in
implementing rules because it is a basic principle of international law that a State party to an
international treaty must ensure that its own domestic law and practice are consistent with
what is required by the treaty. In some cases, the treaty may give general guidance on the
measures to be taken.

PART 2. EXTEND
1. Why do we need to apply different workload management theories on board?
• Different workload management theories must be implemented because they allow us to be
more flexible and responsible at work. It is also important because it improves our time
management and allows us to focus on our work. Finally, as part of our strategy, we will
become active while protecting the interests of the owner and the health of all the crew on
board.

2. What will be the effect if there is no MLC?

• Nobody will provide international standards for the world's first truly global industry if there is
no MLC. There will also be no "seafarers bill of rights," as MLC suggested. Minimum working
and living standards cannot be established for seafarers. At last, seafarers are denied basic
rights in terms of working conditions, accommodation, social security protection, and medical
benefits that protect them while on board the ship.
