1. What is the purpose of setting an ullage in the tank of a liquid cargo?


Answer:
The purpose of setting an ullage is it allows you to know the limit of the liquid inside the tank.

2. What is expansion allowance? Why is it needed?


Answer:
Expansion allowance is the gap or space in cargo. There should be an expansion gap allowance
to adapt the volume of the cargo from increasing.

3. What is the importance of temperature in oil cargo operations?


Answer:
Temperature must me monitor because changes in temperature will affect the oil and may
cause a reaction.

4. What is hold capacity plan? And how it is being utilized during loading operation?
Answer:
Hold capacity plan is a plan of the spaces available for different cargo. It estimates the depth
and quantity of the cargo in a hold or the area of tween-deck required for a given cargo.

5. What are the information included in the general cargo ship?


Answer:
A ship’s cargo plan shows the distribution as well as the disposition of all parcels of cargo
aboard the vessel. The plan is formulated usually from the workbooks of the ‘deck officers’, a
fair copy being produced before departure from the final port of loading.

1.) What is the advantage of loading oil product in a properly calibrated tank?
Answer:
It allows tank to adapt to the oil composition and to avoid contamination.

2.) What do you think of a cargo being loaded which is not based on the loading plan? What will happen?
