1. What is your greatest strength?


The agility to work efficiently and the strength to persevere intense pressure are the attributes
that define my capabilities. Always striving for improvement on every available opportunity.
2. What is your greatest weakness?
Unfortunately, my multi-tasking skills and time management are excellent that I always try to
help others in any way to have a smoother service.
3. Why are you leaving or have left your job?
The reason I left is because I feel like I have mastered all the sections in the restaurant’s kitchen,
and I also became proficient with all the techniques required in the kitchen.
4. Tell me about yourself
I recently started my fitness journey a year ago. Working out in the gym acts like a remedy and
it’s a place where I can pour out my stress because sometimes service in the kitchen is not
always smooth and unfortunate events are likely to happen. But I always do my best to provide a
smooth, fast paced service.
5. Why do you want this job?
I want this job because it accentuates the casual dining experience with finesse, and I want to
develop my greatest skill sets to become one of the core members in the kitchen.
6. Why should we hire you?
You describe in the job listing that you’re looking for an experienced line cook with experience
in seafood. Having served as a line cook at a seafood restaurant for the past three years, I’ve
developed the skills to prepare and cook different types of seafood. My experience has taught me
to become efficiently fast and always striving to improve.
7. How do you handle stress and pressure?
Working under pressure is a key aspect in the kitchen and the ability to handle any situation
without being too stressed is one of my greatest skills. I enjoy working under pressure because I
thrive in stressful situations with ingenious solutions like for example, a server forgot to punch in
the order for a customer, I can quickly serve the missing order in a short time frame while
handling different orders.
8. Describe a difficult work situation and how you overcame it.
One time in the summer at my workplace, I came in early for my shift and I saw my team
member struggling to keep up with overwhelming amounts of orders. The problem was it was
only the two of us in the appetizer section and I quickly realize there was no backup for almost
all the appetizer dishes. So I had to make a tough decision to take over the orders and have my
co-worker handle the backup because I can work a lot faster and cleaner under pressure also the
prep must be done.
9. How do you evaluate success?
For me, success is executing my job perfectly and being able to be recognized as an essential
team member for the company.
10. What are your goals for the future?
My long-term goal is to become involve growing with the company where I can continue
learning and take on additional responsibilities. And, contribute as much value to the team while
enhancing my skills and building more experience.
