Observing the community where the school is found, I feel the sense of peace and harmony among its

people living there. The

neighbourhood seems secured and safe as it is being monitored by the local government unit or the barangay police. There is
also an access to store, bakery and computer shop that may provide the needs of the students and teachers.
The school is compose of old and new buildings, a wide space for interactive activities, accessible facilities, offices, and services.
The color that dominates the campus are maroon, white and green. Although not all buildings are good as new, they are still
functional and useful for students learning activities.
The offices are structured and organized. They are located conveniently so people would find them easily. They have bulletin
board displayed outside their offices to keep people informed of the latest announcements and memos.
The school halls are clean and quiet. There are students in the library, silently reading their books, some are working on their
laptops and the librarian is busy organizing some books. The cafeteria looks small and has a few chairs and tables but can
accommodate students well. There is a big quadrangle at the center of the campus. The school has a social hall, a computer
labor atory, science lab, gymnasium and clinic which are all accessible. The classrooms are clean, organized and well ventilated.
There are signage and proper labels so that offices can be easily found.

 Overall, the school is a safe space for learning. The facilities are accessible and materials/equipement are
functional. The school is conducive to learning which matters the most.

The school campus and the classroom are the learning spaces of the students. Because of this, what composes these two
may directly affect the learning process of the students. Everything that makes up the school and the classroom influence
the result of the student’s learning whether it is effective or unsuccessful. For example, if the classroom is well
organized, warm and free from distractions, the students may learn better and yield positive results in their learning
because there is a sense of peacefulness around them that gives them comfortable space to learn well. In contrast, a
classroom that is unorganized may affect the students’ performance. In conclusion, the physical environment such as the
school campus and the classroom are one of the factors that affect the students learning. Because of this, the school and
the teachers must en- sure that the these learning spaces are conducive to learning.
The idea of the school environment being one of the most important factors in the successfulness of student’s learning is
correlated with the idea of “nature vs. nurture” in the child and adolescent development, particularly the principle about
what the “nurture” wanted to emphasize about the child’s development. This principle believes that there are
environmental factors such as the people and the environment around the child, social relationships, etc. that influence
the students learning and development. This means that the school campus as the important facility where students learn
must give positive input for students and must help the students in shaping their values and help them grow as a person.
To be honest, as I became more familiar in the school environment of Corazon C.Aqiuino Hugh School, I’ve dreamed of
teaching in this school someday. It may not have sophisticated buildings or facilities but what I admire here the most is that
they ensure that the school environment is the most comfortable space for the students to learn. They allow students to
access the learning facilities and resources that are significant for their learning and development. They create
opportunities for students to develop excellent academic performance and to build professional growth among teachers.
And lastly, they value the most the quality of education and services that they will provide for their students.
A school campus that is conducive to learning is an effective place for students to learn. It must be safe and secured, clean and
ecofriendly, free from any type of distraction and the most important is, it allows students to learn effectively by encouraging
them to be themselves, to be independent and to be leaders of their own. It is also important that a school campus helps in
developing values among students and give them authen tic tasks to apply what they’ve learned
classroom is conducive to learning characterizes the following:
 warm and well lit
 well-ventilated
 desks are organized and functional
 the floor is clean
 allows for comfortable space to learn effectively
 students feel the sense of acceptance and appreciation and;
 brings positivity among students
To accomplish a classroom that is conducive to learning, I will carry out the following steps:

 Make sure that the room is clean through encouraging the students to take part in cleaning the room. Through this, I
am also helping the students to be aware of their duties and responsibilities and helping them de- velop discipline
and cooperation in working with their classmates.
 Organize the classroom through creating an effective seat plan that changes every term. This will help students to
establish relationship among their classmates and enhance their social skills.
 Radiates positive energy in the class through embracing the diverseness of each students and accepting each
students’ uniqueness while responding to their needs effectively and inculcating the value of ethics and doing the
right thing in every aspect of their life.
 Use a student-centered learning approach where students become the leader of themselves who are able to solve
their own problems independently and seek for the answers on their own and do not rely on teacher’s in- structions.
 Lastly, is to be an effective teacher who goes beyond what is expected to them as models and leaders of the school and
the community.
Basically, a school is a place where we study and learn. It is where we learn new knowledge, gain valua- ble experiences,
build social relationships and develop meaningful values within ourselves. But, to achieve all of these, a school must be a
safe space for learning, promotes quality education, allows easy access to learning re- sources and provides opportunities
for independent but experiential learning for students. These will not be pos- sible if the school head, teachers, parents,
students and the community will cooperate in achieving all of these goals.
As I walk my way to the quadrangle there are numerous board displays that can be found. There was about 2 to 3 board displays I saw
in various offices such as outside the clinic, the Student Government Office and the Guidance Office. Examining the location of these
board displays, they were in the perfect spot where students can easily view them. The following are the description of each board
displays that I saw outside the aforementioned office.
Outside the Clinic— It was a 60 x 90 corkboard size with white patterned background. It conveys health and safety infor- mation that
students and teachers need to know including the safety rules and important reminders and tips. Unlike any other board displays in the
school, this one has more creative design to attract students. It uses more images, exaggerated text sizes and unique font styles to
emphasize the message. The materials are printed in vellum or bond paper, pasted in col- ored cartolina or art paper and attached in
the board using a glue or a push pin in different colors. The borders are curvy cut
-out yellow cartolina. With its good lay-out and organization, the message it tries to convey can be clearly understood by students.
Student Government (SG) Office— Compared to the board display outside the clinic, the board outside the SG Office is larg- er to give
more space for numerous materials that will be posted in it. It is not as attractive like other boards, but it has more organized lay-out to
accommodate all memos, important announcements and information regarding students development and services.
The background is a dark blue cartolina with yellow cut-out letters (SG OFFICE) placed in the upper part of the board as a title. Other
materials used are A4 size bond paper and different colored pushpins. Pieces of information were ar- ranged based on the date it was
released or its urgency. For instance, latest announcement about an activity that will be held next month is posted in the upper left of the
board so that the students may see it easily. There’s no fancy designs because the primary purpose is informational and the theme is formal

Guidance Office— The board size is same with the board display outside the SG Office but has more posted information than the
one mentioned above. It is motivational, informational and interactive. The contents include recent announce- ments about an
activity, school memos, lost and found announcements, posters and advertisements, and reminders re- garding school rules and
regulation such as the proper wearing of uniform and other school ethics. It is not organized but the it easily attracts students
because it has more colors, pictures and posters which easily gets attention from stu- dents and viewers.

In conclusion, the school utilizes board displays to easily inform students about what they need to know. These boards made the
information dissemination easier as students are more attracted to what is being posted in the walls. Creative- ly lay-outing these
boards is also important to visually stimulate students while learning important knowledge that the- se boards displays try to convey.
