My Analysis

1. How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact the learning of the students
going to school.
The school campus and the classroom play a huge role in learning as this
becomes the places where effective learning can happen. So, it must be safe, clean and
tidy and can accommodate students. Since the pandemic, the school has made new
adjustments, 30 students per classroom are allowed and a lot of signage against covid
19 which is also beneficial to everyone. The classrooms are conducive to learning but
the students and teachers’ cooperation are in need.

2. How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development/ How does this
relate to our knowledge of facilitating learning?

The students in the school are more teenagers, ages from 12 to 18 years old
junior and senior high school. It is the transition between childhood and adulthood.
Adolescent children experience a lot of changes as they adjust to adulthood (physical,
intellectual, personality and social developmental). Puberty, which currently typically
occurs earlier than in the past, marks the beginning of adolescence. A student requires a
supportive learning environment in order to learn effectively and productively.
Teenagers are going through a crucial era of their emotional and psychological
development.

As teachers, we can be humble enough to extend our patience longer,

understand their change physically, emotionally, and psychologically, provide support
and understanding, teach the proper action and reaction to a situation, share our
experience and our emotional maturity, and highlight to them the importance of
developing socially, personally, and within the community throughout their lifetime.
My Reflection/Insights

1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why? Why not?

Yes, I would like too since I have known the teacher in the schools and I have
experienced the environment of teaching students in there. It safe and clean and I can
say that teachers made extra effort and has that their responsibility well. The
environment is what I like in the school since its far by the national road where we can
hear lesser of vehicles noises and can make teaching and learning more effective

2. What kind of school Campus is conducive to learning?

A school campus is conducive to learning when an effective learning is to happen. The

school that fosters learning is the one that provides education in the most effective
manner. It draws interest in learning. promotes intellectual and social growth, and it can
be used to teach children about basic social conventions, personal rules, and the
associated societal responsibilities. An educational setting that instills in students the
value of and understanding for the natural order of things

3. What kind of Classroom is conducive to learning?

A classroom that opens to differences, respect and opinions. A classroom that

are comfortable for students that they feel at home. A classroom where there is always
a room for improvement, interaction, activity and have fun. An atmosphere where a
new lesson is being taught, comprehended, and accepted as beneficial to the influence
on their lives in the future is one in which there is interaction among peers in their age
groups and accepts criticisms and new ideas.

4. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in number 3?

In the future, I would probably want my classroom more interactive to students and
foster positive vibe, where every lesson and activity are fun, interactive and informative.
They are learning at a comfortable, calm and happy pace. I can accomplish this making
every lesson more enjoyable to students, they cannot find boredom and feels excited
every time I’m in the class. They can feel and I am okay, approachable and friendly
where they freely express their worries and problems. Also, we are learning
continuously, we are learning for the better and working the process. I can learn from
them and the students can learn from me.
5. Write your additional learnings and insights here?

I realize that our environment is probably lucky as this is conducive to learning. Unlike
any place, the classroom environment is a great challenge especially when they’re in the
middle of the war, lack of facilities and untidy. So with great effort of teacher, learning
can continue, and instill young minds values and knowledge that helps them in the
future. Even It you’re a teacher, doesn’t mean you know it all. You can still learn

1. Describe the community or the neighborhood where the school is found.

The school is located at Guiwanon Ginatilan Cebu. The community and its neighborhood
are peaceful. A typical province life where people are in work in their hacienda, minimal
number of vehicles pass by, near by the sea and located a bit in a hill. It is also safe and
clean, away from the national road. You can a lot of trees in the surrounding which gives
a calm and cooling effect to teachers and students.

2. Describe the school campus. What color do you see? What is the condition of the buildings?

The school is a public school under the Department of education. The school
teachers did a great job making the school clean, beautiful, colorful and informative.
You can see colors of a light yellow and green in classrooms, red color for the gate,
green in the roof and gray and black for the appliances like tv, fan and projectors. You
can clearly see that every classroom has their own design and each section are named
after different virtues like amiable, charity, empathy and more. The classrooms also are
in good condition and was renovated before they were starting the face-to-face classes.
The school campus is clean, they encourage students to maintain the surroundings clean
and tidy.

3. Pass by the offices, what impression do you have of these offices?

Since the pandemic, some offices are made for a classroom in order to
accommodate students. Right now, there are lesser offices than way back. The first
office I first went to is the principal office where I was to send my letter. Inside there is
also the school admin where she facilitates the documents needed for the teacher to
the principal. The office is clean, well organize and welcoming. It feels harmonious when
you first step in. you can see charts of staff, documents, and trophies that the school has
won. I was able to pass by the faculty room, it has lesser ambiance than the principal
office. So many tables for the teachers, not totally organize and it seems like a bit
crowded, maybe because the room is small for all teachers to occupy. The last one is the
property custodian office. It’s a small room and lots of documents about the properties
 of the school. The clinic and guidance office are in one room but when I went there, its
locked, same with the library. The offices or rooms that made into classroom are PTA
office, AVR room, computer laboratory, science laboratory and stock room.

4. Walk through the school halls, the library the cafeteria, Look and find out the others.

The school halls are clean. Each classroom has trash bin for biodegradable and non-
biodegradable trashes. They also have vegetable garden which fruits bitter gourd,
horseradish, tomato, and more. They also have flower garden which blooms different
kinds of beautiful flower. They don’t have canteen but they have food stalls. They also
have this new attraction saying I ♥ GNHS with water fountain. They don’t have a proper
parking area but they have a basket ball court at the middle of the campus where they
park their cars.
