CHAPER 3

METHOD AND PROCEDURE

This chapter presents the methods of research that the researcher used, the

subjects/respondents of study, the instruments employed, and the data gathering

procedure, and the statistical treatment of the data.

Research Methods

A descriptive research method was used in this study wherein a

questionnaire was administered to Grade 12-Diligence student of Alitagtag College

Inc. High School Department Pinagkurusan Branch. It is designed to collect data

from the respondents to be used in this study.

In the study, the researchers assessed the Effects of The Significance of

Studying Poetry in Enriching the Vocabulary of the Grade 10 and 11 Students of

Alitagtag College Inc. High School Department Pinagkurusan Branch by the Grade

12-Diligence students by a questionnaire. First the completion and the distribution

of questionnaire then the collecting of the data from assigned class lastly, the

tallying of results.

Respondents/ Subject of the Study

The researcher included 3 Grade 12-Diligence students who were from

Alitagtag College Inc. High School Department Pinagkurusan Branch, SY 2022-

2023.

Research Instrument

The researcher utilized the questionnaire as the major instrument for

gathering data. They believe that through this instrument, they will be able to

collect the necessary data from the respondents.

Preparation of the Instrument

The researcher, research the The Significance of Studying Poetry in

Enriching the Vocabulary of the Grade 10 and 11 Students of Alitagtag College Inc.

High School Department Pinagkurusan Branch. After awards, they laid down the

topics, which is related to their study, furthermore, they prepared questionnaires

that will be their material for knowing how the Grade 12-Diligence students know

Data Gathering Procedure

The research sought the approval of the school principal through a formal

letter of request. After the approval, they coordinated with the adviser and sought

his help and giving the schedule. Then they approached the student personally and

requested them to cooperate with them in answering the questionnaire.
