METHODOLOGY OF RESEARCH AND SOURCE OF DATA

This chapter presents the methodology and Research design, subject of the study,
setting of the study, procedure of the study, sources of data, instrumentation, validity
and reliability of study and statistical treatment.

RESEARCH DESIGN

In this study, the researchers used the descriptive method of research. This research
defined as a purpose process of gathering, analyzing, classifying, and tabulating data
about prevailing conditions, practices beliefs process. Under the descriptive method of
research is the survey method that the researchers used to assess the correspondent
basic information such as age and gender. Through this method and with the use of
questionnaire-checklist, the researchers will determine what are the problems
encountered by the BEED students in distance learning.

SUBJECT OF THE STUDY

In this study, random BEED students from the URS Angono, Rizal in the year 2021-
2022 was taken and used as the respondents. The study used total complete
enumeration sampling technique based on the appropriate respondents of the research.
This study requires the administration of the self-made questionnaire to the students to
identify the problems encountered by the BEED students in distance learning.
SETTING OF THE STUDY

The setting of the study will be conducted at University of Rizal System Angono
Campus where the respondents graduated. The University of Rizal System is merging
of two (2) state colleges the Rizal Polytechnic College, Rizal State College and a
University extension campus, the Rizal Technology University Antipolo Annex. The
approval of Republic Act. 9157 on August 12 2001 established University of Rizal
System with URS Tanay as the main campus and its satellite campuses. Morong, Pililia,
Rodrigue, Angono, Binangonan, Cainta, Antipolo, Cardona and Taytay. Rizal State
College was originally named Rizal National Agriculture School created through
Republic Act. 1560 on June 16, 1956 and later into Rizal College of Agriculture and
Technology a chattered state college in the Province of Rizal on June 24, 1983 through
Batas Pambansa blg. 622. It was later renamed Rizal State College by virtue of
Republic Act. 7858 on January 21, 1995. Through the years, the college expanded and
established extension campuses in Pililia, Rodriguiez, Angono, Binangonan and
Antipolo City.

SOURCES OF DATA

The respondents of this study are the random BEED students in URS Angono, Rizal.
The researchers gathered the needed data and information through the total number of
___ respondents of BEED students from the University of Rizal System in the
Municipality of Angono. The instrument will be used in the study to collect data and
information was shown to the faculty and made corrections. The survey questionnaire
where composed of questions where respondents will choose from a fixed number of
options. These are considered to be efficient because data are easy to collect and to
analyze. The instrument enables to determine the problems encountered among BEED
students on the Distance Learning.

PROCEDURE OF THE STUDY

We begin this research by thinking and conceptualizing research problems.

a. The research instructor approved the proposed title of the researchers which is
Problems Encountered by BEED students of URSA in Distance learning.

b. The researchers getting started gathering, collecting facts and information to support
the purposed and the background of the study through different books, newspaper and
thesis on some libraries and various articles on the internet.

c. The researchers gathered the needed information about the research designs, setting
of the study, subject of the study, who will be the sources of the data and the sequence
of the procedure to be followed to conduct study.

d. After gathering the needed data researcher analyzed, tabulated and interpreted those
acquired information and formulated summary of finding to prepare for the final defense
which will comes next and finally depended the study to different chosen panelist,
adviser and chairman.

e. With the given recommendation and valuable comments of the panelist, chairman,
and the adviser the researcher started revising the manuscript. Lastly, the researcher
hard bounded the manuscript and submitted copies to the different authorized persons
and libraries.

f. Letter of request addressed to the principals as school respondents were prepared

and delivered.

g. After the approval of the request to conduct study, the distribution of survey-
questionnaire follows.

Statistical Treatment

In order to analyze the data, the following statistical treatments were used:

For problem 1: What is the problems encountered by the respondents in Distance

Learning the method to be used is Percentage rank.

The formula as follows:

%= f/n x 100

Where:

%= percentage

f= frequency

n= total number of respondents

For problem 2. Is there a significant difference between age and gender of BEED
students in University of Rizal System- Angono.

The method to be used is Weighted Mean.

Formula for weighted mean

X = ∑wX

∑w

Where:

summation
X = items/ score

w = weight of each item

The researchers use the following range:

Verbal Interpretation Range

Strongly Disagree 1.0-1.79

Disagree 1.80-2.59

Uncertain 2.60-3.39

Agree 3.40-4.19

Strongly Agree 4.20-5.0
