Introduction
Improper waste management persistently lingers to be an underlying issue
affecting the environmental health of educational institutions in the country. Several
studies have presented empirical data concerning the partial failure of implementing
and promoting proper waste disposal practices to students.
The vitality of evaluating whether proper waste disposal practices are profitably
observed within the premises is being able to determine its benefits and drawbacks
to the environment and the people. This enables current and future researchers to
gain knowledge and information essential for the development of more improved and
advanced research studies in this matter.

Research Methodology
Design
This research used quasi-experimental methods to gather the necessary data intended for the
fulfillment of this study. This design is comprised of studies that aim to evaluate interventions on
target population without using randomization. In quantitative research, the goal is to learn about
social issues and conditions by observing situations or events directly. Quantitative methods are
used to measure, describe and explain these situations. This research produces objective data
that can be clearly communicated through statistics and numbers.
Therefore, the researches opted to utilize quasi-experimental as the basis of this study to
determine the habits of Grade 12 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics students
regarding proper waste management within the set time frame. It is notably important to use this
design as it properly constructed the data gathered to support this research, as well as to prove
the hypothesis. Through the aforementioned instruments, the researchers will be able to obtain
necessary information on the waste disposal practices that the learners observe within the school
premises.
Respondents
In selecting the research subjects, researchers used the purposive sampling
method with specific criteria to choose only those learners who were currently
enrolled in Benthel Asia School of Technology, Inc. under the Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Mathematics track. Therefore, the researchers will particularly
focus on observing majority of the learners belonging to the four sections under the
said strand. Thus, a total of 100 subjects are expected to participate.

modified. In respect of transparency and clarity, the details and objectives of the utilized
instruments were presented to the student-respondents, the teachers, and the school
administration for endorsement—as indicated in the permission letter. Privacy of details and
agreement.
In this study, the researchers opted to use the observation type of instrument. The
researchers formulated a set of standards, with regard to the suitable waste disposal practices
in a school setting, as a basis for acquiring results. The purpose of this is to evaluate whether
All the collected data will be analyzed and interpreted using descriptive statistics. In particular, the
frequencies and percentages techniques will be used. Descriptive statistics are a set of procedures to
summarize numerical data where a large number of observed values are reduced to a few numbers
(Schreiber and Asner-self). All data gathered will be kept strictly confidential. Observations will be
The data collected will serve as the basis of this study to determine the effectiveness of promoting
proper waste disposal policy to Grade 12 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
