ASSIGNMENT OBJECTIVE

The objective of this assignment is to enable you to develop a good understanding of the
theoretical and practical perspectives of instructional technology.

QUESTION 1: GOOGLE CLASSROOM USING GAGNE’S NINE EVENTS OF INSTRUCTIONS
(40 MARKS)

Designing a Lesson in the Google Classroom

This assignment question requires you to design a lesson based on Gagne’s Nine Events of
Instruction in a Google Classroom platform.

This question has THREE (3) parts. The following steps will guide you:

Part I: Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction

Provide an overview and describe the components of Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction.
(10 marks)
Part II: Applying Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction for a Lesson in the Google Classroom
1. Choose a lesson of your choice.
2. Design for your lesson based on Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction.
3. Create the Google Classroom (search YouTube videos to learn on how to create Google
Class in Google Classroom)
4. Develop the lesson in the Google Classroom. Ensure all the nine (9) events are addressed
through the elements/activities/materials.
5. Print the screen of the lesson (from the Google Classroom) and paste it into the MS Word
file as shown in Appendix A. Show all screenshots of the components of Gagne’s Nine Events
of Instructions. Please ensure that the images are clearly shown and not too small
(preferably 3-4 images per page).
6. Include labels of all the elements/activities/materials in your lesson plan, according to the
components of Gagne’s Nine Events of Instructions.

Part III: Benefits of Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction
Describe “How each of the components of Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction will be useful
in your lesson plan?” in the table format as shown in Appendix A.
