School rules and policies are implemented by the NMSCST for all the students to follow
according to the Figure 1. Schematic Diagram Flow of the Study. It is done in order to have a
peaceful environment inside the campus. The flow shows the NMSCST School rules and policies
and what are they. To all NMSC’ians who dis-obey and what are their different rationales by dis
obeying it.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter discusses that the researcher used in order to collect and evaluate the data in
accordance to the goal of the study. It discusses the research design, research environment,
research respondents, research instrument/s, data collection and statistical tool.
Research Design
This study used the Descriptive type of research in which it involves gathering data that
describe events and then organizes, tabulates, depicts, and describes the data collection (Glass &
Hopkins, 1984). Descriptive studies are aimed at finding out "what is," so observational and
survey methods are frequently used to collect descriptive data (Borg & Gall, 1989)
Since the researchers used a questionnaire to collect data it is said to be the best approach
and the most appropriate design employed in this study.
Research Environment
The study was conducted at Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and
Technology. The NMSCST started as Tangub Agro-Industrial School (TANAIS) in Sumirap,
Tangub City way back in 1971 offering secondary agriculture and trade curricula with Mr. Jesus
T. Bonilla as principal. On June 26, 1973, the school was transferred to Labuyo, Tangub City
three kilometers from the city proper and approximately four hundred meters from the national
highway. The college occupies 29 hectares site traversed by the barangay road leading to Panguil
bay, an area rich in resources with the vast potentials suitable for home and industrial uses
(NMSCST HANDBOOK).
NMSCST’s vision state that NMSCST: A place where Science and Technology
Education and Research on Indigenous resource works towards a more globally competitive
Higher Education Institution. The school’s mission was, The State shall primarily offer higher
professional, technical instructions for special purposes and promote research and extension
services, advanced studies and progressive leadership in education, agriculture, fishery,
engineering, arts and sciences, short-term vocational-technical and other continuing courses as
may be relevant. It shall also provide primary consideration to the integration of
researches/studies for the development of the Province of Misamis Occidental.
This is where the place the study was conducted since the researcher are currently
enrolled in this Institution, they just want to know why some students committed offense in their
school rules and regulations.

Research Instruments
 Self-formulated questionnaire was the instrument used by the researchers in gathering the
data and information needed in the study. The test questionnaire was checked and verified by an
English instructor. The questionnaire collected the data about the NMSCST college students’
rationales in defying security entries implemented by the institution.

For the researcher have the data they made a letter addressed by Mr. Loredy Cabang for
them to get the list of names of the students. Then, when it is signed they will randomly pick
names of the students within first sem. in S.Y. 2017-2018. The researcher will find the students
in their list to have an interview why they disobey the school rules and regulations.
After collecting the data and all the reasons of the students interviewed, the researcher
will now analyze the result.
