MOTIVATION
A. LOOKING GLASS SELF ACTIVITY
1. Choose three partners and create a venue (group chat, phone call, and the like) where
you can discuss the following topics where you are to choose one topic only:
a. When was the last time you had a heart-to-heart talk? Why? How was it?
b. As an adolescent, how did you face the challenge of the quarantine period?
2. After your discussion, answer the questions in the box. Write at least three sentences
about your partner.
What I think of my partner?
When it comes to dealing with real-life problems, I've always assumed she's not
as juvenile as she appears to be. I only know that her childishness has its own set of
boundaries. And the fact that we're talking about such topic proves it.
What my partner thinks of me?
Her answer, “I always assumed he was mature because he is already an uncle to
five children, but it turns out he is not as mature or as he appears to be, which makes
him a poor decision maker. He's also not excellent at dealing with such situations
because he panics all of the time. His maturity shines through when it comes to his
nephews and nieces, which I find admirable.”

B. PROCESSING
✓ After sharing with your partners, what are the common things that you have with
your chosen partners?
- We share a lot of interests, but I believe our responses above complement
each other, at least for me.
✓ When you answered what your partner might think of you, did your answer match
what your partner thinks of you as a person?
- No, it does not. Her response actually surprised me, not by the first two
statements though, but because of how she perceives me in relation to my
family.

APPLICATION
Which among the theories mentioned above best explain the development of your social
self? Please explain.
It's the performed self for me. Because I believe that the roles or obligations in life are
the ones that shape who I truly am or the self they are referencing.
LET'S DO SOME ARTWORK
Reflect on your process of social self-development. Express it by creating any piece of art
that you choose (e.g., poem, image collage, songwriting, painting, etc.) Please include a
brief explanation of your work

These, I believe, are the ones who formed

the self they're talking about, as well as my
own consciousness.
