CHAPTER 1:The Problem and Its Scope

CHAPTER 1

“If you study to remember, you will forget, but, if you study to
understand, you will remember.”

— Author unknown

Why do some learners get good grades while others don't? Poor
students frequently claim that good students are naturally book smart.
Students who receive high grades frequently state that their success
was the result of diligent study. How do you feel?

Everyone wants to receive a "A." It feels fantastic to have good marks

despite the label of "geek." Take satisfaction in the work you did to
prepare, the knowledge you gained, and the results you achieved.
Students are aware of numerous things they must do in order to get
good grades, but they don't always follow through on them.

Good study practices are covered in this section. It includes a lot of the
topics that are covered in the text. If you develop these behaviors into
routines, It will be useful to you the entire time you are a student.

Background Of the study

Another factor that affects how well distance learners do is their study
habits. Study habits help to both represent how students typically study
as well as to activate and guide the learner's cognitive processes while
they are learning. Study habits cover a wide range of activities,
including time management, goal-setting, environment selection, note-
taking techniques, selecting essential points, and organization (Proctor
et al., 2006).
