(4) The valve lifter groups must be installed with the oil holes in the lifter shaft, as shown. The oil holes
should face toward the side cover of the engine block.

Note: Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of the bolts (5) . Tighten the bolts in a
numerical sequence that is shown in Illustration 3 for each valve lifter group.
