Notes for plum concrete.

1. The Plum concrete ratio should be 40/60, 40 % plums (boulders), and 60% concrete.
2. The plums (boulders) size should be up to 300mm.
3. The plum should be trap, basalt, or any locally available stone with the minimum
crushing strength of 100 kg/cm2.
4. The plum should be free from any dirt or clay and shouldn’t be flaky.
5. The concrete used for plum concrete should be a nominal mix of M15 (1:2:4).
6. The plum’s volume in concrete should not be more than 50% of the total volume.
7. Each layer thickness shouldn’t be greater than 900mm, and the division should not be
less than 150 mm.
8. The stones should be spread uniformly in all cases and should not be denser than 150 mm
from the surface.
9. The space between larger stones shouldn’t be filled with smaller stone chipping.
10. The plums are laid in layers using cement concrete as mortar.
11. Plum concrete should be kept wet for a minimum of seven days.
12. The curing of plum concrete is done up to 14 days after jute bags cover the entire
concrete surface to keep it moist.
13. The water cement ratio must not exceed 0.55 and slump of 100 mm.
14. The density of plum concrete us 2580 kg/m3.
15. Lean concrete is 100 kg/cm2.
16. Drain pipes will be provided 2m c/c horizontal and vertical above ground level.
