Legitimacy refers to how fair or just the outcomes of policing are, and trust refers to a faith in the
procedural justice of policing.

•Indicators:

1. Priorities (do the police share the same priorities as the public?)

- Yes, because the law enforcer job is to protect the public both are partially sharing the same priorities.
A police job is to eliminate the possible crime that might happened, investigate crime, enforce the law
and protect people and property. It is a type of reciprocal attitude between the police and the public
because the community needs a safe environment and the law enforcers are obliged to protect the
environment to have a safe place for people.

2. Competency (do the police accomplish the requirements of their job?)

- Yes they do, because law enforcer personnel are trained and discipline is been enforced to them. We
know that law enforcer personnel are trained to patrol, rescue, first aid and etc. They say that the police
officer are the apple of the eye of the community. One simple mistake of a police officer may affect the
whole organization. So as a person under an oath it is your job to do your job as what it should be.

3. Dependability (are the police dependable?)

- Yes, because of the tons of law enforcer personnel. People will always think that they are safe and
they will always have officers that they can call on in-case of emergency. So a law enforcer should do
what he/she is told and what is under the constitution of the state. To have a better and effective
policing and so that people will always have trust towards the police personnel.

4. Respect (do the police treat people with respect?)

-Yes they do, a police is trained and educated personnel. And law enforcer officer should respect the
people/ community that they serving. A law enforcer commits themselves in their sworn job, they are
the enforcer of the law they should respect and treat people fair and equally. So the people will respect
and trust them.
