Mix Up

Instructions:

i. Students are grouped into 4 based on their area of interest ( Sports Enthusiasts,
Arts Masters, Academicians, Skilled workers)
ii. Each group assigns a leader, notes-taker, resource speaker, materials handler,
time-keeper
a. Sports Enthusiast- will give names of two students in the class (they can pick any
name)
b. Academicians- will say any of the following (selling/ manufacturing/ advertising/
working/ making) and a name or kind of product or service (Bagoong/Clothes/
shoes/ vegetables)
c. Skilled workers will give a name of an individual/organizations/ groups who are
potential customers (Call center agents, teachers, senator, etc)
d. Arts Masters - will give a name of a place anywhere in the Philippines. They may use
common nouns or proper nouns i.e (beach, SM, Divisoria, sidewalk)
e. The groups decide on the spiels that they will give.

Teacher facilitates the game by starting with the first group’s spiel followed by the next
groups and so on. It is expected that different scenarios will be created.

f. Evaluate the scenarios created and answer the following questions:

Questions:

1. What if the scenarios actually happened in reality, would they result to the success of the
businesses? Why? Do the products, place, people / customers match? Why/Why not?

B. DURING THE LESSON 30-40 min(Strategies: Brainstorming, ICT Integration, Collaboration)

Activity: Market Team

Present 4 different markets and their demographic profile (example: dry goods market in Jaro, Mall in an
exclusive subdivision in Mandurriao, market in Arevalo, Urban Poor Village)

Assign a market to each group thru drawing of lots. The group analyzes the market needs and determine
the products or services that will answer the needs by considering their specialization, demography,
geography. The class sets a rubric for evaluation. The group writes their output on a manila paper and
presents to the class.

Explain

The groups explain their work and receive feedback from other groups on the basis of their viability,
profitability and customer needs

Elaboration/ Deepening of Concepts

Why is it important to determine the market needs/ customer needs? Why does it matter in creating a
Business Plan?

Evaluation: Students’ participation in the class will be the basis for evaluation using the rubrics set by
them. Ask the students who they think the winner is

Extend

Assignment: Ask each student to make a formal proposal considering the markets and customers given
and submit next meeting for screening of proposals.
