popular for the presidency) & the rest of Pres. Marcos former cronies & “friends” (including Pres.
Duterte), which do you think among the two; i.e., “history repeats itself” & “people repeats history”,
is more appropriate. Explain your answer.
Answer:
A. The intentions of the author as implied in Pres. Cory Aquino’s speech are focused on the
constitutional recovery of the country after the dictatorship of Marcos. The speech of the former
President Corazon Aquino gives us the insights on how Filipinos struggled to attain freedom and
between the insisted resistance from the past have inspired Filipino revolutionaries in our current era.
It also gives clarification about what really happened during the time of Ninoy Aquino.
The document describe the struggles faced by the Aquinos to help the Philippines achieve freedom.
The document also mentioned about the debt incurred by the former government before Cory Aquino.
This speech also shows how the dictatorship transforms into democratic government. From its
president down to its laws, order, and rules. The document also mentioned the killing of Ninoy Aquino
and the terror From torture and conviction during the Martial Law. It shows the problem faced by Cory
Aquino as soon as she became the President. For instance the poverty and unemployment. The
document mentioned two electionsoccurred after the death of Ninoy Aquino. His wife participated
during the election a lose in the first election. During the second which is snap election, she became
the president and declares democracy in the country.

B. During the campaign period of Cory Aquino, Filipinos had backed her campaign to clamor for
democracy. Wherever she went in the campaign, slum area or impoverished village, people came to
her with one cry: Democracy! Not food, although they clearly needed it, but democracy; not work,
although they surely wanted it, but democracy. Not money, for they gave what little they had to my
campaign. The people didn't expect to Pres.Aquino to work a miracle that would instantly put food
into their mouths, clothes on their back, education in their children. And work that will put dignity in
their lives. But she feel the pressing obligation to respond quickly as a leader of a people so
deserving of all these things.

C. The three issues/problems that Pres. Cory Aquino was confronted in her administration as
mentioned in her speech are widespread poverty, a communist insurgency, and yet offered their lives
for the abstraction of democracy.
D. For me, the solutions of this problems, as Pres Aquino took the presidency she had strongly
impacted her nation as well as the world to view women as someone capable of handling authority
and power. She emphasizd that what they started was not wasted. Thay, they Filipinos put up a good
fight against the social and political oppression of Marcos Administration. “ Still we fought for honor,
and if only for honor, we shall pay”. The task have fallen on my shoulders to continue offering the
democratic alternative to our people.” Aquino took the responsibilities in taking care an fighting for the
sake of freedom of the whole country and doesn’t have the means to do so by herself. In 1987,
President Aquino signed into law a Tulong Sa Tao Program. Its main objective was to reduce
poverty by creating employment opportunities and enhancing incomes of low-income groups. This
three problems solve the solutions if all people can still fighting and helping each other so that we can
build our good future and make our country peace.

E. In my own opinion, I prefer to choose people repeat history because we can easily reminisce
about what had happened in the past. Its easy for us to recall and retain the story about our most
significant event in our lives. Just like our former President Marcos, he done a lot to serve our
country amidst his law that many people are against and disobeyed it. In time of his presidency, he
always recall and plan how to serve his country effectively. So, I can say that history doesn't repeat
itself.
