Report on Inspection of the site of Toilet being constructed at S.

718 of Sholavandan Village in Ward no 7 of Sholavandan
TownPanchay at near Vattpillayarkoil,Sholavandan

It is respectively submitted that the site of the public toilet constructed at

Sholavandan by the Sholavandan TownPanchayat as mentioned in the WP
No----------------was inspected on ------------and the report is submitted as follows.

The public toilet is being constructed at S.No 718 of Sholavandan Village in

Ward no 7 of Sholavandan TownPanchayat,near Vattpillayarkoil,Shilavandan at
cost of 15 lakhs under Cleaner India Scheme 2.0.The scheme was sanctioned by
the Commisioner of TownPanchayats vide Proceeding No--------------- as the
directions from the 3rd State High Level Committee Proceeding dated 27.06.2022
with the subsidy from the Government of India and Government of Tamilnadu.The
objective of construction of this public toilet is to enhance the environmental
hygiene of that area by avoiding open defecation of the local public.

During inspection,it was noticed that the public toilet is under

construction .The land use patten of the proposed toilet is as follows.

On perual of detailed project report and drawing submitted by the Sholavandan

Town Panchayat the following are submitted.
i) The proposed toilet will have 10 seats.

ii) It has been proposed to construct Septitank and Soak pit arrangements to
treat and dispose the waste water generated from the toilet.

Further,it was informed by the Executive Officer, Sholavandan

Town Panchayat that there will not be any discharge of waste water into
the River Vaigai.Also.it was informed by them that once the septic tank
becomes full with waste water,it will be collected through tanker lorries
and will be disposed in the Sewage treatmnet plant operated by Madurai
Corporation at Avaniyapuram and Sakkimangalam.

Under the above circumstances,it is respectfully submitted

that as the objective construction of this public toilet is to enhance the
environmnetal hygiene of that area,construction of public toilet shall be
permitted subject to the following conditions.

i) The waste water generated from the Public toilet shall be treated
and disposed through the Septic tank and Soakpit arrangements as
proposed.

ii) The overfolw from the Septictank shall be collected and disposed
in to the any one of the Sewage treatment Plant of Madurai
Corpotaion functiong either at Avaniyapuram or at
Sakkimangalam after getting necessary permission from the
Commissioner, Madurai Corporation.

iii) The Sholavandan TownPanchayat shall maintain logbook for the

disposal of sewage into the sewage treatment plant of Madurai
Corporation and shall be maintained properly for verification.

iv) The Sholavandan Town Panchayat has to ensure that there shall
not be any discharge of waste water into River Vaigai either from
the toilet directly or through the Septic tank and Soakpit
arrangements under uny circumstances.
