ANNEXURE-VIII
The wastewater coming from different operations (Process, cooling tower, washing) will be segregated
to two different streams such as:
The Low TDS wastewater stream of 357 KLD will be treated in an Effluent Treatment Plant
Comprising of primary, secondary and tertiary treatment.
As depicted in the P & I D [ZTAP061/582/P & I D-01], the Raw Effluent is received in the
Equalization Tank [T-101] via Bar Screen Chamber [BS-101] and Oil & Grease Trap [O&G-101]
Continuous Air is provided in the Equalization Tank [T-101] through Blowers [BL-101 A/B] at the rate
of 150 M3/Hour and Pressure of 0.35 Kg/Cm2 for homogenized mixing of Raw Effluent. Further this
Effluent is pumped through Equalization Transfer Pumps [P-101 A/B] to first Compartment of
Reaction Tank [T-102] known as H2O2 tank, wherein H2O2 is added by the Dosing Pump DP-101
along with H2 SO4 by Dosing Pump [DP-104 A/B] via In-Line-Mixer [LM-101] and FeSO4 [Catalytic
Agent] by Dosing Pump-[DP-103 A/B]. The pH value is lowered to 3.0 to 3.5 by adding H2SO4 for
getting maximum reduction in Phenol and COD of the Raw Effluent.
The acidic effluent over flows to the next compartment of Reaction Tank [T-102] known as
Neutralization Tank where in NaOH is added by the Dosing Pump [DP-102 A/B] to adjust the pH 7.0
to 7.5.
For proper mixing in both the compartments, Agitators [AG-107 & AG-108] have been installed.
Overflow from the Neutralization Tank [T-102] flows to Primary Clarifier [PCLF-101] to settle the
formed sludge. The settled sludge at the bottom is transferred to Sludge Holding Tank [T-110]. The
clarified effluent from Primary Clarifier [PCLF-101]is admitted in to clarified effluent storage Tank
known as Primary Effluent Tank [T-103] from where it is pumped by Primary Transfer Pimps [P-102
A/B] to two stage activated process units comprising of Aeration Tank Stage I [T-104], Secondary
Clarifier Stage I [SCLF-102] Sludge Recycle Pump Stage I Pumps [P-103 A/B] and the Aeration Tank
Stage II [T-105], Secondary Clarifier Stage II [SCLF-103].
The Aeration Tank Stage I [T-104] Stage II [T105] receives air from Blowers BL-102 A/B/C at the rate
of 600 M3/Hr. and Pressure of 0.45 Kg/Cm2
The sludge collected at the bottom of both the Secondary Clarifiers [SCLF-102 & SCLF-103] is
pumped to Sludge Holding Tank [T-110] by the Sludge Recycle Pumps [P-103 A/B] & [P-104 A/B]
and also recycled to respective Aeration Tanks as per requirement.
The overflow of Aeration Tank Stage II [T-105] is taken to Secondary Clarifier Stage II [SCLF-103]
and the clarified effluent is transferred to Filter Feed Tank [T-106] The clarified/treated effluent is
pumped from Filter Feed Tank [T-106] and forced to flow through Pressure Sand Filter [PSF-101]
and Activated Carbon Filter [ACF-101] by the Filter Feed Pump [P-105 A/B] where suspended solids
are removed and also the part COD. The clarified effluent from Activated Carbon Filter [ACF-101] is
used to back wash both the Filters
The treated effluent now is finally received in Chlorine Contact Tank [T-108] where balance COD is
also removed and overflows to Treated Water Tank [T-109] from where this treated effluent is
disposed by Pumps [P-107 A/B] to the common effluent disposal system of SEZ-GIDC.
The Sludge collected at Sludge Holding Tank [T-110] is pumped to Filter Press [FP-101] by Filter
Press Feed Pumps [P-108 A/B] and the Filtrate is collected in the Filtrate Tank [T-111] from where the
same is pumped back to Equalization Tank [T-101] by the Filtrate Transfer Pumps [P-109 A/B]. The
dewatered Sludge is transferred to Sludge Drying Area for further disposal as appropriate.

PROCESS DESCRIPTION
After primary treatment the sewage water of 10 KLD from domestic purposes enters the “Biocask
treatment”. Fluidized Aerobic Bioreactor (FAB) is the latest technology in the aerobic wastewater
treatment field in which feed enters in the CSTR along with air bubbling at the bottom which tends to
mix the biomass with feed and gives degradation of organics. After bubbling the air at the bottom it
moves upward and trying to escape in the atmosphere as early as possible, due to which it provides
very less contact time with organics and hence low rate of oxygen transfer and efficiency.
The system adopted has much less moving parts (only pumps and blowers). Further there is no moving
part inside the bio-reactor. This gives the advantage of continuously running the bio-reactor system,
under widely fluctuating conditions. All the pumps / blowers are manufactured in India only, and hence
there is no problem of availability of spares. All the maintenance on the mechanical systems can be
done with normal skilled mechanics available. During monsoon this 10 KLD of water will be used for
washing purposes.

ANNEXURE-XIII
The proposed waste disposal plant will consist of four (4) Plasma Reactors (PR) each capable
of processing 7.5 Ton/day of waste (at the rate of 4 x 375= 1500 kgs/hr). Each reactor will be
fitted with 3 nos of each of 100 kW (Subject to change during final configuration) non-
transferred arc plasma torch system. The waste will be shredded to a size that will facilitate
feeding of the waste in front of the plasma torch. The inorganic component of the waste will
be melted during this process and will be removed from the bottom of the PR as slag. The
synthesis gas (syngas) that is produced by the PR will consist predominantly of carbon
monoxide (CO) and hydrogen (H2). In addition to CO and H2, syngas which will exit from
PR will also consist of carbon particles and other pollutants in traces. Thus syngas from PR
will be treated in downstream syngas cleaning system consisting of hot gas filter.(In case of
Camlin, there would be no chlorine or sulphur in Syn gas since distillation residue (waste)
does not contain any chlorine or sulphur). Downstream ID Fan is provided to overcome
pressure drop across the entire system and to maintain negative pressure in PR. Clean Syngas
from ID Fan is collected in a Syn gas tank from which it can be used as a fuel for steam
generation in a syn gas fired boiler. Flue gas from syn gas boiler is passed through Bag Filter
for polishing treatment to final exhaust gas. Flue gas after bag filter is vented through stack.
Inorganic content in the PR is collected at vitrified slag from the bottom of PR which can be
used for land fill or for construction material. Details of major equipments are listed below.
