Lab 1D Observing Storm Forecast

Follow a storm inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). Download daily
forecast tracks (maps) for the whole duration of the storm inside PAR. Upload a satellite
image of the storm.

Answer the following questions by either uploading document or respond on the text
editor.

 What is the general pattern of storm tracks? Why do you think the reason for this
pattern?

Based on my observation the general pattern of storm track upon entering and
leaving our Philippine Area of Responsibility it was from east to north, east and to
northern area of luzon. The reason for this pattern was because of the earth’s
orbit around the sun and its rotation as an titlted axis causes from its solar
radiation than others. It produces global circulation patterns. It steered by global
winds that surround a hurricane that propagates in the direction of this wind field.
The tropical cyclone be more strong and had enough coriolis effect that deflects
the paths of the wind that causes the storm to spin and influence the poleward
side. It is because also of the weather pattern that lead to emergencies. Laslty it
characterize by relatively high temperature, high humidity and abundant rainfall.

On September 23 & 24, 2022 the Tropical Depression enter the Philippines Area
of Responsibility from Northeast to Northwest.

It was the latest update of typhoon Karding that enter in Phillipine Area of
Responsibility September 27, 2022.

By comparing the two files of images that PAG ASA has collected for today's and
tomorrow's forecast in terms of their position or motion occurring inside the
Philippine Area of Responsibility, which would recognize the situation in a storm,
you can access the forecast tracks and determine the accuracy. According to the
data gathered, as you can see, typhoon Karding will be outside the Philippine
Area of Responsibility on September 22, 2022, but on September 23, it would
have already reached our region. On the basis of the image or information
provided above, you will be able to search for it. Additionally, there are the facts
from September 25 and 26, which significantly affected several regions of our
nation.

 What is meant by the colors of the satellite image you printed or pasted?

We will determine the amount of rainfall that has been present based on the
color-coded meaning of the satellite image that has been downloaded and is
displayed above. According to its temperature, it presents The amount of infrared
radiation emitted by warmer objects is greater than that of colder items. There
will normally be dark clouds in the cloud free parts of a tropical cyclone track
forecast cone, although there is a chance that low clouds and fog will also seem
dark. Low pressure is indicated by the color red, which is always present close to
the storm's eye.

 What is the extent of the rainfall band around the eye of the storm?

Based on the latest forecast that

East of Northern Luzon (17.5°N,
130.2°E ). It has maximum
sustained winds of 75km/h near
the center and gustiness of up to
90 km/h. Light to moderate had
happening with at times heavy
rains over some places such as
Batanes, Cagayan and Isabela.

 How is the rainfall pattern in Mindanao affected by the storm?

Due to the storm Karding's distance from Mindanao, the region's rainfall pattern
was unaffected. It was far from Mindanao's location in the south, as can be seen
from the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Except for in the northern region of our
nation, which is Luzon, the weather conditions in the Mindanao area were not
significantly impacted, according to the PAG ASA forecast. But although it may
rain in some locations, it won't in others.
