1. Go to the NOAH project website of UP Diliman and observe the maps and images
displayed on the website.

• What are the features of the the website?

The Project NOAH web feature shows historical tropical cyclone tracks, wind,
real-time rain, weather outlook and stream gauges, tide levels, weather stations,
Water Level Monitoring Stations (WLMS), flood hazard maps, Doppler stations,
landslide hazard maps, precipitation data, realtime satellite, alluvial fan hazards
and storm surge historical data. The website application that would be the case
of an incoming unpredictable events incident. It recorded the potential events of
volcanoes whether it is active or inactive and then the historical earthquake.

• How helpful is the website in disaster management?

The project website of NOAH is helpful for its information that provides specific
steps to perform some activities or preparedness to have adequate on time of
emergency. It generate the accurate, reliable, timely hazard and discussed the
requirements necessary to make better decisions on time of emergency. This
NOAH project would also be helpful for everyone especially to our people in
community that is prepared to risk and aware what would happen for the reason
that not all weather activity be reported. They will find the disasters coming by
this website to be prepared and to prevent the disaster risk.

• What hazards can be displayed in the website?

The hazard that would be displayed in project NOAH website is the

hydrometeorological hazard for major river basins, storm surge maps of all
coastal area, flood, landslide entire of our country and lastly the critical events in
our local.

2. Go to the MDSI website of the DOST-PAGASA and observe the maps and images
displayed on the website.

• What are the features of the website?

The MDSI website of the DOST-PAGASA feature shows weather station,

Doppler radar, public alerts, cyclone tracks, Coastal radar, satellite images,
weather cameras, water level, numerical weather prediction, flood hazards map,
storm surge hazard map, and landslide hazard maps and the maps that has
featured the historical events.

• How helpful is the website in disaster management?

The PAG ASA Met-Hydro MDSI website is helpful for the reason that it aims to
inform the public about warnings for disaster, being prepared for the forecast and
also the response to disaster-causing severe weather phenomena. It serves as
extended periods to develop the activities and MDSI incorporates all available
web-based information of DOST PAG ASA that includes the possible regular
weather situation. And lastly it is a tool that provides to be aware and prepared
for this event phenomenon.

The hazard that can be displayed in MDSI website is flood hazard map about 5,
25 and 100 years ago, storm surge hazard map approximately the storm surge
advisory level and landslide hazard all over the Philippines.

3. Compare the visualization of both NOAH and MDSI. Which do you think is user-
friendly? Which of the two shows more helpful information. Substantiate your answer

The Project NOAH website of UP Diliman is even more user-friendly than MDSI by
comparing the visualization of the Project NOAH website. Both of the website give
information, awareness and preparedness about the events or knowledge to the
historical events also. It assists our nation to extend program in our community disaster
risk prevention and climate change adaption. Therefore, If I would choose between
those two website is Project NOAH rather than MDSI.
