INTRODUCTION OF ORGANIZATION
Fusion packages is established in 2015, located in street 10 of Rawat Industrial area. It’s an
SMC - single member company - Private Limited company registered by SECP. The
organization manufactures corrugated cartons and do offset printing of papers. Their
primary customers are CSD, Forte tiles, Pk meat and food company, speed and BATA shoes,
Zaiqa tea and many more. The company captures a customer base in Rawalpindi, Karachi,
Gujranwala, Abbottabad, Lahore and Peshawar. Fusion packages have started their
operations with local machines and now slowly transitioning to automation through
inculcation of international machines and plants.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
I, Maryam, have been working with fusion packages since 2017 as their operational
manager. Recently we are working on import of 2 machines to automate our manufacturing
operations. 1- Flexo printer slaughter (4 color) machine from China for printing and
cutting of papers. 2- 5 Ply corrugation line for customized sheets manufacturing from
Germany.

INTERNAL ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

1-Infrastructure: We need a heavy concrete base to support Flexo setup as the machine
weighs 8000 kg and have to be brought down to basement. 2- Employee Capability:
Machine trained employees who have hands on experience of Flexo and corrugated line
needs to be hired to carry out the operations smoothly and avoid mishandling. 3- Resource
capability: Importing these machines requires us to purchase a generator of 200 KVA power
so that during electricity outage, machines don’t stay idle and also because all previous
machines were running on LPG not electricity. 4- Data Assets: We have statistically analyzed
the percentage increase in productivity, delays and raw material wastage of both machines
from the data set received from foreign manufacturers and organizations already operating
in these machines. 5- Knowledge Assets: We have 2 professionals in marketing department
who have worked with companies using these machines for 5+ years, also our young team
visited Lahore expo conducted by “Packages” in early 2022 to see live demos of Flexo and
gains specific details from them.

EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

1-Marketplace Conditions: We have to look for new orders to satisfy the daily requirement
of these machines; Flexo (20,000 cartons per day) and corrugation line (25,000 sheets per
day). Also look for the competitive edge these machines will give us over our competitors
Roshan Packages, Global Packages and Nazeer packages. 2- Regulatory Authority: RCCI
(Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry) visits every factory in industrial area and
ensures that land occupation, manufacturing units and security parameters are aligned with
PAK Standards. 3-Physical Conditions: From July-sept we receive lots of complains from our
customers because cartons absorb moisture from environment and loses rigidness. 5 Ply
Corrugation line provides strength and extra rigidness to cartons for a longer period of time.
4- Financial Considerations: Introduction of Flexo and Corrugated line provides automation,
lessen the workload on employees, helps us in reducing our workforce which ultimately
benefits us financially in a longer run. 5-Industry Standards: Import of these machines is
also important for us to stay in the run of competition as the industry is continuously
evolving and such automated machines helps us to get international certifications of ISO.
