BASIC CAPACITY BUILDING FOR CSO REPRESENTATIVES

IN LOCAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCILS

Title: Capacity-Building for CSO Representatives in the Local Development Council (LDC)

Participants: Newly-appointed CSO Representatives in the LDC

Overview: The course aims to capacitate newly-appointed CSO Representatives in the LDC to effectively perform their roles and functions.
The training will provide participants with the basic knowledge and skills needed to participate actively in LDC activities and
advocate sustainable development in the Council.

Terminal Objectives: At the end of the workshop, the participants will:

1. Exhibit basic knowledge on sustainable development, and how local governments promote it through various local public administration
activities, particularly development planning
2. Exhibit basic knowledge on the functions and operations of the LDC, and the role of CSO representatives
3. Practice communication and negotiation skills in the context of advocating CSO policy positions and projects within the LDC
4. Prepare strategic plans for CSO intervention in local planning and development activities of the LGU
