Topic: Protect Endangered and Rare Species.

General Purpose: To preserve rare species for the sake of global diversity.

INTRODUCTION

B. Tie to Audience: The conservation of endangered species, and restoring balance to
the world’s ecosystems, is vital for humans,
C. Thesis: preserving rare species can have a direct positive impact on human life.
D. Preview: Plants and animals maintain the health of an ecosystem. When a species
becomes endangered, it’s a sign that an ecosystem is out of balance. And the
consequences can be critical.

II. BODY

A. A well-balanced ecosystem maintains the health of the environment. This


ensures that humans have access to clean air and water, and fertile land for
agriculture.
B. Over 50% of the 150 most prescribed medicines were originally derived from a
plant or other natural product.
C. Agriculture also plays an important role in the protection of species, farmers
are often seen as the original conservationists. A well-balanced ecosystem
maintains the health of the environment. This ensures that humans have
access to clean air and water, and fertile land for agriculture.

D. III. CONCLUSION

A. The benefits of protecting species may not be immediately evident. But


it does make economic and ecological sense to protect species from
becoming extinct. If we value our health, and our ability to breathe in
clean air and drink clean water, it makes sense to save species for their
sake, and for ours.
