OBJECTIVE
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of
a concrete type.
Introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where
he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has.
Interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

1. Written Exam (50%) = It is a test containing items regarding Listening Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, Reading
Comprehension, and Writing. It will be applied in weeks 6, 10, and 14.
2. Classwork (20%) = students will print this “Textbook” in order to complete all the exercises discussed in class. Each
assignment will be submitted to the platform.
3. Projects (20%) = to encourage students to develop better speaking and writing skills, every week the teacher will assign
projects so that learners can apply the language and the skills seen in class, such as: videos, group presentations, role-
plays, interviews, story-telling, infographics, essays, etc. Each project will be submitted to the platform.
4. Oral Exam (10%) at the end of a partial period, the teacher will assign an “oral exam”. Instructions will be given in
advanced. Aspects to be graded: pronunciation, clarity and organization, accuracy and creativity.
5. Active Participation (5% extra) = to gain this benefit, students must attend all classes and accumulate at least ten
participations per partial period: these can be answers to exercises from the book, answers to questions asked by the
teacher, comments, etc.

CLASS REGULATIONS
I.- Punctuality and Attendance
The teacher will take attendance at the beginning of the class. Delays are considered as absences.

Absences will be justified only by submitting the notification issued by the school director.
Your book is your attendance pass.
Check in daily and turn in homework assignments on time otherwise they won’t be marked.
II.- Cleanliness
Do not eat during classes.
III.- Respect
Be respectful of others during lessons. Undisciplined students will be removed from the classroom and they will be
penalized with 5% of their partial grade.
Keep devices off during class time (cell phones, tablets, etc.). Students who don’t pay attention or miss activities
for being using cell phones or other electronics will lose 5% of their partial grade.
If an exam is canceled by the teacher since the student was found to be copying, his grade will be 0.0
IV.- Use of the Spanish Language in class
Participate and stay attentive. Always speak in English, otherwise you will be assigned an extra class
presentation.
V.- General rules
You can earn extra points if: a) you win a game (+0.2 per game)

Regulations.
